Let's look at the facts:

This is the worst Raiders team in my lifetime.
It's ravaged by injuries.
The Dragons are the defending premiers.
They are also looking to secure this years minor premiership.

Raiders by 8.

Actually, this is one of the better rosters, just decimated by injuries. When you are missing Campese, Learoyd-Lahrs, Dugan, Shillington for most parts of the season it is no wonder we are playing like amateurs. On top of that, we always seem to have 1-4 week injuries to key players eg. Papalii, Croker, Thompson, Vidot, Picker etc.

We are also being spearheaded by a dud of a coach.

That's a bloody strong Saints team and Raiders backline weakened a fair bit without Croker, we will surely target their halves in defence and Vidot may have a long night v Morris. If we start well (which we rarely seem to do do in canberra) and have a solid completion rate, we should get the win

Our starts in Canberra haven't been the problem.
We've been in front at half time the last 2 years.
They've simply run over the top of us in the 2nd half each time.

Last years start was quite even, by the end of the first half, Canberra had racked up quite a lot of possession.

That's a good point, we scored first down there last year, lead 10-0 a couple years back down here as well but couldn't go on with it. We just seem to let them get a roll on and the crowd really roar them home.
Should be a fairly good crowd, can't wait to get out there!

Refs have been named in white this week, which suggests the Dragons will play in the scarlet alternate strip akin to the Steelers, last worn in Round 10 against Canterbury.

For those who believe in omens...
As I understand the last time STGI beat Canberra, it was wearing this strip - 2007 at Wollongong, Dragons smashed 'em 58-16 (link).

There are plenty of "omens" you could look at - such as Wayne Bennett never once having victory over a David Furner-coached side, or the fact that the Raiders have never lost the next game after being held to nil.

Now that's funny.

The Raiders have run their race this year. They won't have Shillo or TLL to helo overpower the Dragons forward pack.

In the hot pursuit of a top 2 finish i reckon Dragons by 16.

I'm an atheist. Don't believe in omens, magic, witchcraft, paganism, islam, judaism or christianity. Just simple faith in the game of rugby league.

Saints to win... by a spiritual margin.
