Lol you can hardly compare missing a centre to missing your main play maker. Centres are a shitload easier to replace than a halfback so it's a ridiculous comparison.

Please.
Who would you rather face in the centres, Gasnier or Scott?
Scott, runs straight and hard, doesn't have the speed off the mark or footwork.
Gasnier, has a step, has a nice passing game, has speed off the mark.
With Gasnier out, Melbourne only had to cover our left side.

Did I ever say that you weren't disadvantaged?
I responded to the poster who stated Melbourne had a reason if they lost, but Saints didn't.

lol@merge fans thinking having Cronk out didn't make a difference. Would have had at least 3-4 tries put on you if he was there polishing off the plays in your 20.

Melbourne were the better team by far, the scoreline isn't a good indication of the game

Show me 1 Saints fan who has said that it wouldn't have made a difference if Cronk played.
The scoreline was a fair indication, you are just a poor judge of a footy game.

To me the Dragons were much improved last night. Unlucky in a few instances - debacle of refereeing that the air-tackle on Soward wasn't penalised - because the ball had bounced... WTF?

Ugh it's only illegal to tackle a player in the air when it's off a kick, once the ball bounces it's no longer a kick.

To me the Dragons were much improved last night. Unlucky in a The match for me also showed the Storm are definitely beatable.

Yeah they just have to have their halfback out with the rest of the playmakers playing out of position...

One last thing - I know it's a nice sentiment for his 200th - HOW THE HELL was he Ch 9's MOTM? :|

You didn't watch the game did you?

well, no, I did see the side on view.
The view where you were in line with the pass? We all saw the Channel 9 vision where the camera is on half way. Unless Boyd passed from half way, you can't judge accurately.

Ok

The only thing that is a laughing stock is our own fans death riding us after keeping Melbourne to less than ten for only the 2nd time this year. They were off the pace because we FORCED them to be with muscle in defense, not because Cronk was missing.

Agreed. Cronk is just one player. I don't accept that an excuse for the Storm.

Sometimes people listen too much to the commentators. Besides, Melbourne had Billy Slater... right? He's worth 50 billion Changas.

Did you miss my point? Do you not see how ludicrous that rule is? Soward was in the air taking a ball and was tackled. Why the rule is exclusive to kicks is beyond me. The danger involved is still there. Rule needs reviewing.

Making excuses for winning? That's a new one. Nice work.

Watched it from start to finish. Cam Smith orchestrated everything IMO - easily the best player on the park.

Dear oh dear.

I know you're probably just trying to get a rise out of Dragons fans but one player is worth 50 points?

Go easy on them Timmah (Spanner & R.P), they are just kids who have only started watching Rugby League in the past year or two. Neither have actually played the game or really understand it.

Try it again without picking at semantics

So it took you a game when they were playing without their halfback to realize the Storm are beatable? :sarcasm:

I sure as shit know we're beatable on any given day as everyone else does (except maybe butters) but of course they're going to look more susceptible to being beaten without their number one play maker. I'm more than happy to say again the Queens were much improved last night and played well, but I also think most people with half a brain know the result would've been a fair bit different had Cronk been there.

Yep, we improved but like you say if Cronk was there i think the right options would have been taken by the Storm. A number of times the ball went to the wrong man when there was a clear overlap developing.

You are beatable, and i think Manly may get you next week but once Cronk comes back i cant see you guys getting beat. You're players are so determined its the big difference between our sides

Have you seen the way Melbourne have been playing lately, and the way the Dragons have been playing lately? Even the shithouse Roosters put 20 on them - without Carney, FPN and Myles. Have you watched a team capitulate after you put three or four tries on them? Those three or four tries can easily turn into 6, 7, 8 tries, especially against a woefully out of form team like the Dragons up against a fit and firing Melbourne.

Cronk won't set up 50 of those points. But he will contribute to 20 of them, and the rest of the Melbourne side - as well as a dispassionate, disorganised Dragons - will turn that 20 into another 30.

Billy Slater gets some massive wraps but last night he was just sublime, he is the best fullback in the competition by so far it isn't funny. What people forget with Cronk as well is that it would allow Billy to play his natural game, ripping teams apart around the middle. Slater didn't get much of those opportunities last night. The Storm are beatable but they won't beat themselves.
