You are beatable, and i think Manly may get you next week but once Cronk comes back i cant see you guys getting beat. You're players are so determined its the big difference between our sides

Yep, while it's a winnable game as every game is for every side i agree that we'll find it hard to get the win against Manly. We haven't got a great record at Brooky at the best of times and without Cronk (most likely) it'll be even tougher.

That said if we do get done I certainly don't it'll do the side any harm. While I've never been a believer of "you need a loss" after being on such a long run it wouldn't be a bad thing at the same time. Love to still win it though.

You think Bellyache might rest a few players for Manly? You got 1st wrapped up i think it wouldn't be a bad idea

Go easy on them Timmah (Spanner & R.P), they are just kids who have only started watching Rugby League in the past year or two. Neither have actually played the game or really understand it.

????

I'm in my 50's, have been watching league for 30 years and played it for 10.

I also think Manly will take the chocolates next week simply because it is at brookie...

Different story in the finals though.

If Cronk were playing last night the Storm would of won far more comfortably. The Dragons rarely troubled the Storm after the first twenty minutes. Gaz and Morris wouldn't of made much difference. Soward is out of sorts in a huge way. That was by far the worst game I've seen him play. It's hard to take positives out of his game. His passing game was awful, his kicking game was shocking and he look terrified each time he had the ball.

He's absolute garbage in defense so without his spark he's a liability. Not a passenger, but a real problem.

Like it was mentioned last night, the Dragons have one attacking play they do variations of. They did it to the death last night and came up with no legitimate points. They did well to hold the Storm to eight but they were without Cronk. With Cronk in there I've got no doubt it's a 13 plus result.

Sorry mate, I shouldn't have directed that at you so much. It was more for the other poster mentioned.
He knows next to nothing about the game and offers very little. His only purpose for getting up each day is to try and death ride the Dragons.

So tell me why Gasnier would not have made a difference at all last night?
Does he offer more in the centres than Scott?
Does he have a better passing game, better speed, better footwork, attract more defenders and worry from the defenders? Would it have taken less focus off our left side if he was out there on the right?

It was fairly obvious in the second half St.George just don't have the forwards this year. They're done for the year.

I think they've got the forwards and can come back. I think the biggest problem is their halves. Hornby is great and is playing pretty well, but is no world-beater. Soward is woefully out of form, Boyd seems disinterested while I've often thought that the Dragons run without a hooker. If a team's 6,7 and 9 can't direct anyone anywhere, while your fullback is busy scratching his arse and thinking about next year, then you are going to struggle.

Agree about Boyd, he put in a little last night, but if the heart isn't in it is going to hurt. I still think they miss someone that can intimidate in the backrow, especially now that teams feel they can match them up front.

Storm have guys like Adam Blair, Sika Manu (as much as I think he is a grub) that can cause that type of trouble.

Matt Prior, Ben Creagh, Michael Weyman, Trent Merrin, Jon Green, Dan Hunt. All good forwards but no one that will send shivers down the opposing players or get them worried.

Agree...Hornby does not gel with Soward and that will be the difference in them progressing in the finals IMO.

It didn't stop them last year or the year before.

St George-Illawarra's problem is that throughout '09 and '10 they looked better than they were because they were able to get up every single week. They not only rarely had an off night but they rarely played an average game - they were nearly always playing their best.

Now they've won a premiership their motivation levels are back to normal and they're just a solid top 8 side. Honestly, how many genuine stars have they got?

Boyd's a good player but was never anything special. Cooper and Gasnier both used to be stars but now are just in the 'good player' category. Soward has the best kicking game in the NRL but if he couldn't kick he never would have played first grade. Hornby's solid but he's never been much better than that.

The true star at the Dragons is Bennett, and there's only so much even he can do to motivate them. I dare say he's got half a mind on the Knights' preparation for next year already.

well atleast he throws them when it counts, like in the GF

32-8

Come on. Everyone knows that was a Clayton's grand final. Anyone would have beaten the team who ran last the year before (2009) and missed the finals the year after (2011).

The real premiership decider was played the week before against the Tigers, and the Dragons did very well to win 13-12.

The view where you were in line with the pass? We all saw the Channel 9 vision where the camera is on half way. Unless Boyd passed from half way, you can't judge accurately.

Yes, the view where we were in line. It was replayed once (maybe twice?) after the try was scored. It was forward out of the hands.

So, again as per my original question to you. Where have any of these guys stated that the Storm were not disadvantaged by not having Cronk out there?

So it changes from who said he wouldn't have made a difference (your actual original question) to where did they say they weren't disadvantaged.

 Dumbarse. Accept your loss and move on.
