Do yourself a favour and actually watch a Dragons game. Soward's defence has got better and better over the last 2 years, not that he was that bad to start with. And Lockyer was never a bad defender. For both Lockyer and Soward it's a case of run a big bloke at a little bloke 100 times and the big bloke is going to get through every now and then. Neither player deserves their poor defensive reputation.

Completely agree. Where as Marshall doesn't even attempt to make tackles quite often. At least Sandow tries.

The funny thing is Marshall had an absolute blinder of a defensive game against the Raiders in the semis last year. Led his team from the front. The big question is why he can't do that week in, week out.

Soward and Lockyer are granted weaker defenders in their respective teams, however both are still very capable of stopping a player more often than not.

Despite this both have regular articles about their defence, and in soward's case it is forever brought up as a reason why he can't be in rep footy.

Marshall on the other hand is diabolical in defence, no only is he a weak tackler, he seems completely uninterested in tackling. He is never called on it though as he is the golden child.

I hate when people this.......but stuff it, i will do it anyway. I know you are death riding my club to get the spoon, but we have beaten 2 of those so called 'top teams', the dragons are the team to beat still, don't kid yourself.

Marshall was excoriated for his weak defence up until about 2008. Over the past few seasons he has improved markedly and performances like tonight have been few and far between.

There's a reason I didn't mention Souths, Titans, Warriors, Roosters and even the Sharks. Those teams, despite their record, are capable of better.

IMO the Eels, Panthers and Raiders will stay where they are. Those other teams are better than 1 win in 3 games.

I rate the cowboys...yes I picked them for the spoon at the start of the year but I've definetley changed my mind about them since. There's a few teams who could get that last top 4 spot and the Cowboys are one of them in my view.
