out of the 2 teams with most finals experience i like the look of Manly more than i do the storm. Storm just havn't really kicked into finals mode like i expected them too at this stage.

Souths by 4 i think they could get this one. They toughed out a good win against knights, but they tend to fall asleep either side of halftime, they need to be switched on against a team like Melbourne because they can hurt ya with the strike they have.

GI to inspire a massive victory for Souths against his old club

plus souths pack is much bigger and mobile than Storms. Rabbits sending the likes of Sam, Asotasi and taylor down the middle will lay good platforms for the likes of GI, Sutton and Reynolds

Our advantage over them is in the forwards. We need to smash them through the middle if we're going to win. How Burgess, Taylor and co play is crucial to whether we win or not. We roll over the top of them in the middle and their big 3 won't be able to do damage.

Souths aren't without a hope here, but they did struggle to put the Knights away last week despite having all the field position and possession. Two of their three tries were scored from dummy half - I don't think that'll happen this week.

The Storm will also pose a lot more questions in attack compared to the little-to-no-idea gameplan of sideline to sideline the Knights went with last week.

I thought Knights were unbeatable at Old Boys Day? Now we should have put a massive score on too?

There was no struggle last week. Should have been 18 - 0 and Knights never looked a chance of scoring

Like most i'm tipping a close game. We'll need to improve greatly on what we've shown in recent weeks and if we don't we'll get done but i think we will enough to get over the line at home.

It's a massive occasion for the Rabbits given the lack of finals experience for most of the team, made even harder having to come to Melbourne for their first crack at the business end so it'll be interesting to see how/if they handle it. We can all guess either way whether they will or not but there's no way of knowing until they actually get out there and do it.

I'm sure Bellyache and the senior players will have a plan to try help minimize the effect of GI but we still have to execute it no matter what they come up with. On paper they do have it all over us in the forwards thats the case with several team and we've still managed to get the job done a lot of the time. I'm confident our blokes wont just roll over and get dominated and will bust a gut doing their job trying to stop them. I thought Fa'oso was good the other night so hopefully he keeps his spot to counter it somewhat. Vave also another option.

Great game, can't wait. Storm by 6.

Not going to turn this into a Knights-Souths thread, but no-one said the Knights were unbeatable on Old Boys Day. Fact is you should have put a massive score on.

Eight goal-line dropouts to one, 90 less tackles, 57% of possession and you only came up with three tries, two of which were from dummy half. Those are the facts.

The Storm are a much tougher nut to crack than the Knights this year and you had your work cut out to crack the Knights.

As I said, Souths aren't without a hope here, but the game is in Melbourne, Slater, Smith and Cronk are playing. They should win.

Knights defended well, they looked very Bennett like. But they were outclassed the whole game. In any case, a team shouldn't have to put thirty on the scoreboard to have a convincing performance.

Souffs by no more than 4. I'm not confident...but I never am in big games.

Fonua, if picked, is going to getrained on by Reynolds on Sat'dee. His hands and his nerves'd better be steady!

Toss a coin?

Melbourne were pretty dreadful a couple of weeks ago at home against Cronulla, and are not the potent weapon they once were....but have plenty of experience and can get the job done.

Souths are a bit of a wildcard I reckon. They could show up and give it to Melbourne straight up the middle via Burgess, Taylor and Co' but haven't really been tested in the last few weeks so it's hard to call. I hope Souths come out ready for it like The Warriors last year and surprise a few people. Big game for young Reynolds against Honky Tonk.

every NRL team deserves respect and each win a cause for celebration.

Anyway , look forward to wiping your pnus breath smirk of your face when Souths meet your mob in the final series. Assuming your mob make it that far!!

Nobody is trumpeting anything. The majority of us are just happy to be in the finals for once.

As for last weeks result - we were told by the majority of people on here that this was the beginning of the end, we'd get pumped on old boys day again etc etc and instead what we got was a very clinical performance, forcing a lot of repeat sets and committing very few errors in what were dreadful conditions. And to add to that, the only try we did concede wasn't actually a try. So that's very pleasing from a defensive standpoint.

But please, feel free to remind us for the 23523476th time that we only beat rubbish teams. I assure you, it's keeping us all up at night

Timmah said we wouldn't make the 8, then we wouldn't make the 4.

I wouldn't worry about his opinion.

Impossible to predict.

We are yet to see how Souths handle the pressure of finals footy, there are only about 6 guys in the team that have played a finals game and only 3 of them in the red and green.

We have the talent to beat Melbourne, no doubt about it. I think if we win this we are grand final bound.
