Well, I called it. Stupid decision, Farah was easily the best on the field, but they were talking Bird up so much they had to give him the award. Myles was hardly the best last game either. Some strange man of the match awards in Origin. Is that Bird's third?

I think because he was good in parts tonight, and great last game, it was kind of like an award for both games (but Farah could have won that too).

Just hope Gallen is OK, he has been busted for weeks now and that game wouldn't have helped.

That was a terrible play. He had a few poor plays. But it wouldn't have been a try in any case as they ruled Stewart grounded it. Tate missing out at the end was important- not like Tate or Qld to miss those win at the end plays. But that is not giving Jennings enough credit for a Matt Sing like (or ET before him) try saver.

Another Origin with 2-3 big errors as pivotal plays- hardly awe inspiring football.
But the hits were good, and conditions were heavy, so the game was OK given the conditions.

On the Hayne "kick", there was a play a few weeks ago where the commentators said it has been confirmed that if a player drops it accidentally on to their boot, it is still a knock on. I can't quote it because I don't remember it well, but I thought that was the current interpretation of dropping it accidentally on to the boot? (stupid rule, trying to "interpret" intentions, but just because it is stupid doesn't mean it isn't in the NRL). Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Great, great, great game. In fact I can't remember a losing game where I came away somewhat satisfied simply because it was such a great game.

I'm sure the blues go out with a plan to bash the crap out of Slater at every opportunity. Its why we hate the blues. But fair play to them.

Greg Bird MOTM ... oh please, he is a massive liability.

RL was the winner tonight, and over the next 3 weeks we can stick it to the AFL.

Get ready for a monumental performance by the mighty maroons in game 3 ... will be like a tsunami ! God I wish I was going.

I thought that Bird had a great game, especially in the first half. Farah made 63 tackles and was a true champion, but he didn't give the Blues that cutting attack because he was so knackered from defending. Still, I was 50/50 between the two. Farah was steadier throughout so he probably deserved it.

Good win by the Blues. Should be two up, same as last season, so that means Queensland by 20 in the third game.

Agree that Farah should have been MotM. Also thought Bird was good though.
Luke Lewis was outstanding in the final stages, really put pressure on QLD.
Great game, great result, bring on game III!

I though Bird was very good tbh, could've gone to Luke Lewis or Farah as well.

Very good game of football. Thought our young props were great in their first stints, didnt have as much impact the second time round. Need to work on that a bit.

Fantastic match. Far better refereeing. I can't remember any situation where the referees were really wrong. That was how an Origin needed to be officiated.

Unfortunately the Blues won't make any changes but for me, Uate has to go. No defence, not safe under the high ball, no confidence and to keep him just because he's got some speed and flair in open space is silly. They need to bring in someone else, like Brett Morris.

Ah well, still a fantastic night. Nothing better than watching in a packed club with fellow Blues supporters and a beer in hand. Except being at the actual game lol..

The real farce out of all this is what a joke the NSW selectors have been the past few years. Any NSW fan would have seen that Farah is superior and we don't need a utility. That is how QLD play and their reign must stop this year.
