Geez betting on MOTM is dangerous.

It's so subjective and could quite easily be influenced...especially becuase it's probably up to f**king freddy the deadshit to decide it.

As a neutral supporter I am pleased for the blues. They fully deserved to level it up one all. It would have been a travesty had the maroons pulled out a victory from tonight.

On the MOM front I agree with everyone Robbie Farah should have been awarded the man of the match.

Game on in game three. It will surely be tough for the blues to win in Qld but on the back of a superior forward pack it is possible.

Well done NSW well deserved win.

Yeah, he's always been safe as houses in a blue shirt
Far better than your mate Uate. Just calling it like I see it. He was the sole reason for QLD's two tries and wasn't defending well at all. His reading seems to be so poor which is his biggest problem. That and not being able to catch a bomb.

Ricky Stuart is a genius. Our halves deserve none of the blame for our shit kicking game, they were on the backfoot the whole night after the intial front row stint. Grant was the best prop out there before being taken off and then not let back on for f**king ever. And then he couldn't get a hit up inbetween the first 2-3 hit ups being taken by our backs and then Gallen + another second rower. Tamou was likewise deprived of chances to get us going forward, but even so after his first stint was taking the ball flat footed. We are structureless in attack because of the geniused backrowathon suffocating our halves and all creativity. We won that game on heart, Farah, Bird and Lewis dragged us to the win.

On the flipside, Stuart is a genius in defense. All that defending on the line and conceding just two shitty kick tries against that spine was amazing.

It was a kick. If people want to talk technicalities then yes it was a kick. But even if it wasn't kicked it was a rake by Thurston so it was play on regardless. Fair try whatever way you look at it.

Gould must be one of the most annoying commentators of all time & that includes Daryl Halligan (or whoever that 9 bloke who used to shout "Huuuge" all the time was.) I ended up hitting the mute button every time I heard Gould's voice for fear he was going to blow another load over "origin moments".
Great game - the Blues won with their defence, certainly not their attack. Pearce's kicking was ordinary and rarely put the Toads under pressure - they were lucky that Slater had a gimpy leg tonight. The Blues halves need to do much better organising in the next game.

Uate was poor tonight, no doubt. But B Morris has been awful in all of his origins, probably worse than Aku was tonight in every game.

when they had the under 20's origin on during the rep weekend and Ricky Stuart was commentating, it was horrendous.. every decent play.. "it's an origin play"

yes Ricky, an origin play in front of 1000 people with a group of players where half of them will be lucky to make NRL let alone origin

ffs

On the Hayne "kick", there was a play a few weeks ago where the commentators said it has been confirmed that if a player drops it accidentally on to their boot, it is still a knock on. I can't quote it because I don't remember it well, but I thought that was the current interpretation of dropping it accidentally on to the boot? (stupid rule, trying to "interpret" intentions, but just because it is stupid doesn't mean it isn't in the NRL). Can anyone confirm or deny this?

The only time I can remember a discussion like this coming up this year was Tigers V Broncos. Matt Gillett drops the ball and kicks a field goal.

The commentators argue about it for a little while and it is determined that you have to be trying to kick a field goal for it to count.

So not the same thing.

didn't benji do something similar a while back?

I think it's bs either way, on the play we're talking about it won't matter because it was stripped but I don't like how players can flukishly attempt to kick it and get given the right of kick after having dropped it

QLD lost through their errors. Way too many for an Origin game. I don't see how the Blues think they're any hope of beating QLD in a decider at Suncorp though.

Because they defended the shit out of them.

Morris has controlled Inglis better than any other NSW player has before so that's a huge problem we've fixed. The whole side defensively was terrific and the work up the middle was monstrous.

And NSW didn't make any errors? One try gifted due an error.

NSW defence was awesome. That's where the Qld errors came from.

Again, well played Qld, but you were beaten tonight by NSW. Hard to accept for some.
