With the possession the Panthers had no way the the doggies should have won that, the dogs look not a bad side considering their average roster . Jury is still out ,the panthers need more than they can give though ...possibly a very long year for chocie soldiers i think .

Hard to really judge our attack or anyone's in the wet. We were up 12-0 until Gordon went off. Smith was meant to be our workhorse & was in the centres so the forwards had to step up and work harder. Burns & Kingston shouldn't be in the team.

Our defence was better not many missed tackles. A couple off short balls & a couple of scrappy tries. The pouring rain the 2nd 1/2 didn't help. Newton most weeks scores rather then is held up.

Plenty of 50/50 calls that went Bulldogs way that another night go our way. Turner's big run before the 1st try I will watch the game replay but looked like a NFL style block by Barba. The pass from Dummy 1/2 to Graham? Looked touch and go. Some times they are picked up sometimes they aren't.

Flash Gordon is a huge loss,so unbelivable .Before he was injured last year he was in the top 10 players in the NRL fullstop .

We have nothing in attack, dogs have nothing in the engine room. We smashed them in the middle of the park and had nothing up at the business end, Barba helped us out a lot, he's a liability. When the penalty onslaught came in the second half and gave the dogs some field position they looked alright, but they're going to struggle to get up there on their own. Defences were pretty good I guess.

One of the tries due to Ben Barbas shepeding should have been disallowed. Also the refere has forgoten what it means to be offside when the dogs where on defence.

Yeah. It was straight out of NFL's playbook.

Well with the new 'body mass' rule there was a good 10 or so offsides missed both ways. Newton scores that near Coote miss gets over it's a different result.

Early on especially in the wet teams need 50/50's to go their way or bounce of the balls. We got a good share go against us. That Pritchard hit was our way.Not all 1 way but still hampersgame. I want to see them run get all teams back.

Not sure how Penrith lost that game. Disappointing for the club. They dominated in all key areas yet come away empty on top of some crippling injuries. Sour start to their campaign.

Luke Walsh made Brisbane's halves look organised last night. No direction at all. I did like the forwards, in particular Tim Grant. I was really disappointed in Jennings. Spare me the "he didn't get much ball" remark. The great players go searching for the ball, Jennings didn't. He needs to work on this facet of his game.

James Graham confirmed his standing as a world class forward. Anyone who follows the Super League knew he would be a success in the NRL. Graham has always stood up for England too in recent times, the guy is a top class rugby league professional. He will join Morley and Ellis as modern day giants from the UK who took on and defeated the best in the NRL (Burgess in that company too).

Canterbury will be happy to get a scrappy two points there last night.

Gus says on twitter broken leg for Gordon. Damn, really was turning into a star.
Love to know which tweet you got that from. The tweet I saw said fractured fibula.

He and David Simmons will have surgery Monday, prognosis to come.

Scrappy game. Pretty much what I expected from two teams in rebuild mode. Gordon will be out for some time. Huge blow to the Panthers.

Last I checked there was a difference between a fracture and a break.

The new reports this morning are the first mention of a break... last night all reports were a fracture.
