Appreciate and agree it was a superb game and we were *just* the better side.In the last couple weeks we've been getting cocky and lazy for stretches of 10-20 minutes in a game. This loss should be a grounding loss to keep the boys heads from getting too big.
Gotta take issue with the quoted piece above though - it's not just the last few weeks this "getting cocky and lazy" has happened - it's been pretty much week on week all year. You start to dominate games and then let the opposition back in, and allow the momentum to swing. Started with the Roosters in R1. Sometimes the start is good enough to sustain victory - tonight it wasn't.
Thoroughly enjoyed the game - both sides showed they have both good and bad about them. Highly entertaining stuff for the neutral
Thought there might have been a question mark over the grounding of Staggs effort near the end, especially as he was fighting to get it down inside the end goal and the ball was in the air.
I felt like he'd probably ground it sliding over the line, but was surprised they didnt go to the video ref or show it in replay.
Finucane showed more promise on debut for the dogs than George Burgess did for Souths
Definitely grounded from the replay I saw before he was rolled on his back.
