In the last couple weeks we've been getting cocky and lazy for stretches of 10-20 minutes in a game. This loss should be a grounding loss to keep the boys heads from getting too big.
Appreciate and agree it was a superb game and we were *just* the better side.

Gotta take issue with the quoted piece above though - it's not just the last few weeks this "getting cocky and lazy" has happened - it's been pretty much week on week all year. You start to dominate games and then let the opposition back in, and allow the momentum to swing. Started with the Roosters in R1. Sometimes the start is good enough to sustain victory - tonight it wasn't.

Thoroughly enjoyed the game - both sides showed they have both good and bad about them. Highly entertaining stuff for the neutral

Thought there might have been a question mark over the grounding of Staggs effort near the end, especially as he was fighting to get it down inside the end goal and the ball was in the air.

I felt like he'd probably ground it sliding over the line, but was surprised they didnt go to the video ref or show it in replay.

Finucane showed more promise on debut for the dogs than George Burgess did for Souths

Definitely grounded from the replay I saw before he was rolled on his back.

Anyone else see in the tackle just after Burgess v Graham spat, Burgess grabs a handful of Graham's hair. If you have the game IQ'd when Graham is tackled just to the left of the posts, watch as Burgess goes for the old-fashioned hair pull...

One of the most enjoyable games to watch this year. The tenacity of the whole Canterbury squad this year has come all from Des, and deserves the credit.

But Souths are a better team this year too. I thought it was over when Burgess made that line break and had support. Not enough credit is given to Adam Reynolds and his great kicking game last night, he took over when Sutton went missing and made some good kick meters and pretty much had the level head you need at 7.

And then they were chatting afterwards like nothing happened. Good on ya, Poms!

Was unable to attend or watch last night. Would be interested to hear how Taupau and Finucane went.

Would rather hear from neutrals. Obviously not skeepe lol

Taupau was only on for maybe 10 minutes and gave Sutton a swinging arm, was penalised and didn't do too much else. Finucane made some strong runs for what little time he had on the park. Both really needed more time to have a bigger impact. Good to see both play though.

I couldn't stop laughing at the Burgess/Graham fight. 2 Englishmen going at it during the Queens Diamond Jubilee weekend lol. Man the Bigpond commentary is hilarious lol

I hope these two teams meet each other in week 1, 2 or 3 of the finals. Would bring in an epic crowd.

with a deep sigh , i just had another slow motion view of Farrell's effort. He done his best . If the play could have been relived , it was Sam who should have held the pass up longer , he passed too early. When he passed , Barba already had his back to Sam and was focused on Farrell.too bad
