Would of been hilarious if they won from there... Would of been the first time a team won off a kick off as the siren is blowing.

Fantastic game, both sides are playing super football. No "boring" rugby league or "2 horse race" rubbish if you actually get to see these teams play. Dogs move to 2nd on the ladder, for now.

Souths were a touch unlucky, but Dogs probably deserved to win. Souths had control of their destiny at the end but couldn't quite get there.

Souths have plenty of attack (as they have for a while) but their defense and forwards are really working at the moment. Burgess (Sam) great again, shame he couldn't set up that last play. Inglis a bit quieter compared to recent weeks but still scary. Reynolds is a revelation, Sutton was very strong.

The Dogs are very clever in everything they do (bar a cheap penalty or two...), you can see the Hasler touch in a lot of their classy plays. They have unbelievable offloading ability, speed, size, and great attitude. Graham was (as all year) outstanding, Barba likewise (great try saver to win the game), and their Reynolds has also been a revelation.

Tigers are back, Manly had a strong win, Sharks beat storm a few weeks ago, plenty of good Sydney teams at the moment.

Souths still aren't playing for the full 80 minutes. The win against the Cowboys was similar to this. Blew them away in the first 20 then defended for the rest of the game. Better attacking teams, like the Bulldogs, will put them away.

well he was shit tonight! & i didn't see anything special about him, if it wasn't for sam i doubt he would be here.

we will have to wait & see but i didn't see any great signs. he looks like a big boy but needs to run & hit a lot harder.

We keep losing our way in the 20th minute. Honestly I think its Ben Lowe, he comes in off the bench and our entire middle section seems to fall apart

4th v 5th and across the 80 minutes it certainly played like that. Both these teams will be around in September.

The fact that we were literally centimetres from winning shows how close this game was. It was two evenly matched top 4 contenders going at it. If Farrell was a bit smarter in that last play, we win.

But in a way I feel this was a loss we needed. I'll take an honourable loss after 4 straight wins if we learn a lesson from tonight. In the last couple weeks we've been getting cocky and lazy for stretches of 10-20 minutes in a game. This loss should be a grounding loss to keep the boys heads from getting too big. The bye comes at an ideal time. We have 14 days to work on our issues. Then we have Parra, that should be the ideal tune up for Brisbane the week after. That'll be another game against a good team where hopefully we will apply tonights lessons to it and come away with a different result.

Well done Dogs, you guys were very good and contributed to one of the best games of the year. Won't surprise me at all if these 2 teams play in a Semi or Prelim.

Was an excellent game ,both sides are entertainers . i will say for the bulldogs ,they never give in and are calm and patient ...then can really pile the points on the opposition side ....this will hold them well into the finals if they get there .

Gutted.

Great game of Rugby League, especially in the rain. We made too many errors and gave away too many penalties yet defended resolutely in that second half to keep us with a chance. Barba swung it with some brilliance in the end.

Well played Doggies. 1 all now. Hope to play the decider in September some time.

Geez that was a good game, wet weather footy and the ball control was pretty good.

ANZ Stadium is so annoying, was nearish to the Burrow but too far from the Kennel so you don't get the full exchange for atmosphere.

Graham and big Sam were incredible, and Adam Reynolds will play for Australia one day if he keeps this up. I'm bloody happy with that Inu signing.

Thoroughly enjoyed the game - both sides showed they have both good and bad about them. Highly entertaining stuff for the neutral

Thought there might have been a question mark over the grounding of Staggs effort near the end, especially as he was fighting to get it down inside the end goal and the ball was in the air.

I felt like he'd probably ground it sliding over the line, but was surprised they didnt go to the video ref or show it in replay.

Finucane showed more promise on debut for the dogs than George Burgess did for Souths
