but i take solice in the fact we've ended your season.

no need to turn it into a cripple fight by acting like a genius.

our season ending has little to do with the raider's victory. our poor F/A would make sure we missed out against the Broncos even if we won both our games I would think.

I wonder what it is about the sidelines at Canberra Stadium. You rarely see players failing to find touch from a penalty generally, yet last night was the fourth consecutive game at Canberra Stadium where it has happened.

Bizarre.

2 80 minutes of great football doesn't justify a season of 30+ drubbings which Canberra have had several times this year.

If they make it, they'll be out in the 1st week. Not a threat.

We've also dished out a few hidings as well. Canterbury, Melbourne and Sharks all took a beating and they're top eight sides.

If we finish sixth if luck goes our way, then we may be playing deep into the finals.

I hope Laurie Daley and his NSW selectors have taken note of Blake Ferguson's performance of late; he's been a revelation at centre, having finally put all that talent together and started to cut out the brain farts, turning him into a very deadly proposition.

Yeah no

I came in here hoping to read an acid-tongued referee diatribe from skeepe after "the ref dudded the Raiders all night". I'm disappointed, instead reading a far less entertaining stoush between over-confident Raiders fans and those who can see last night for what it was.

As for the game, a tough night at the office. Wright's mind was elsewhere, Romelo was always going to struggle to fill Ennis' shoes as an 80-minute hooker. Pritchard surprisingly quiet and Barba looked to be carrying an injury. Couple that with a committed and energetic Raiders side and a bizarre one-sided refereeing performance first half, stupid stupid errors and no structure from us in attack, and you have that loss.

Still wake up to see the side first in the comp, can't complain - just need to sharpen up for the Roosters next week.

canterburys effort last night was one of the worst in the nrl by any side. running out on the first tackle twice, drop balls, a horrible kicking game, dropped bombs, i could go on. they played like brad buries and as a result st george are gone. I'm pissed off about it but i know its half st georges fault as it is. but why the hell did canterbury put that performance in now?

I also think the conditions played into the Raiders hands, they're used to play cold weather footy and we aren't.

I can't see us turning that in against the Roosters next week in likely warmer conditions.

We were gone when we couldn't even muster a performance against the Roosters, you dingleberry. I can't believe you actually bothered to imply that Canterbury tanked to keep us out of the finals.

Congrats Raiders. A few refs calls aside they were clearly the better team and were always going to beat us.

LOL at the butthurt Tiger fans. Some saying that we were TANKING to keep them out of the 8 (on twitter). LOL Is anyone worried about the Tigers being in the 8? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

See you in the finals Raiders. I daresay if we meet again you wont font things that easy

Yeah, the refs were inconsistent last night. The disallowed try to Sandor Earl would have been given any other game. They tried to keep the Bulldogs in it but the doggies coudn't get over the line even with a lopsided second half penalty count in their favour.

Oh look, Timmah being a sore loser as usual. What a surprise.

I saw last night for what it was too Timmah. The Raiders absolutely demolished the Bulldogs in every facet of the game.

Exactly - hence why I said:

How was it bizarre, or even one sided?

In the opening play of the game the Raiders are penalised for putting Kasiano into touch after the referee called held, despite the fact that Kasiano had continued his charge upfield by another 6-7 meters. Why are the Raiders penalised for Kasiano ignoring the referee and walking off the mark?

With about five minutes left in the first half the Raiders are denied a try that would have been given in any other game this season.

The Bulldogs probably had two bad calls against them. The first was Barba going into touch (he released the ball first) and a strip call around 30 minutes in.

The bizarreness comes from, as you said, not only those two decisions which were potential game-changers, but also the inconsistent interpretations of ten metres, ruck holding time etc from the referees. Bizarre that both sides were guilty of those offences on multiple occasions but only the home side got the penalties out of it.
