I still also believe Souths are a huge chance, and you're right about most premiership teams losing their last games in the season.

IIRC in 2005 the Tigers won 8 in a row then lost their last 2 regular season games, then of course won all 4 in the finals. Brisbane in 2006 weren't too crash hot either going into the finals either.

Souths will bounce back this week and probably win atleast 20+

Dragons in 2010 also lost in rounds 23 and 24.
Storm lost in rounds 22, 23, 24 in 2009.
Manly in 2008 lost in rounds 19,21 and 22 before going on with it
Storm 2007 a bit earlier in round 19 and 20 they lost two.
Brisbane in 2006 lost from rd 19 to 24
Tigers in 2005 lost in round 24 and 25
Bulldogs in 2004 lost in rd 23 and 24. Knights 01 from rd 21 to 24 lost.
Penrith in 2003 lost in round 19 - 21

The only thing consistent with Premiers is some form of a slump before going into the finals. Even going over to Wigan Warriors led by Maguire, they lost in round 24 and 25 of the regular season before winning it all. And they barely lost any games in the regular season otherwise

Of course the first thing is winning so I won't get ahead of myself but I don't think our position has changed much. We just looked lethargic, I doubt we will be lethargic in the semis

Becoming a little more tempting to tip the eels. Anyone know why Luke was dropped?

I dunno but I imagine because Peats has been performing better, and Luke is probably having a whine about not playing 80 minutes

He pulled similar antics with Jason Taylor

Hopefully he pulls his head in

We're officially fully fit and injury free. Awesome situation to be in 2 weeks before the finals. We'll win.

SOUTH Sydney's leadership group has slapped a booze ban on the club after hooker Issac Luke broke team protocol at a family member's bucks party last weekend. The Sunday Telegraph can reveal Luke was also involved in a training stoush with long-time teammate Scott Geddes, a separate aspect of his demotion to the NSW Cup, where he will play with North Sydney today.
With Souths in danger of tumbling out of the top four, alcohol has been declared off-limits at Redfern until the title campaign is complete for 2012.
The move comes after the Rabbitohs' six-game winning streak stalled with back-to-back losses, against premiers Manly and Cronulla.
As the Rabbitohs prepare to host wooden-spoon favourites Parramatta at ANZ Stadium today, coach Michael Maguire was tight-lipped about the booze ban.
And when pressed about whether Luke's demotion was due to disciplinary reasons, Maguire maintained it was because of "on and off field performance".
"What goes on within is between us. Every team does different things at this time of the year," Maguire said.
"We've got a very strong senior group. All the decisions we're making at the moment are purely based around getting our best performance and those sorts of things (alcohol bans) come into play."
The Sunday Telegraph has been told Luke's demotion was two-fold.
Firstly, he made a poor defensive decision against Cronulla to allow a try and also attempted a chip-and-chase play on the third tackle, not staples of the Maguire regime at Redfern.
Secondly, the Kiwi Test hooker was given permission to attend a family member's bucks party after the loss to Cronulla on the proviso he stuck to a strict curfew.
Luke failed to meet the requirement and had an earlier push-and-shove at training with Geddes.

Tough one to pick.

On the one hand, if Souths they are out of the top 4 and that will make me very happy. On the other hand, if Souths win then we are guaranteed not to get the spoon which will also make me very happy.

Your move god. I'm sure you'll figure out someway for the result of this game to piss me off
