I expected McManus to get called back any time from 20 to 50m from his line (once I was sure he wasn't running for a quick tap) but he kept on running, and they allowed it. I like watching a play like that if it is in the rules, but I think the officials just messed up.
Knights scramble defense and defense on their line still looks good. As the Dragons used to, they get good numbers to the edges on their line. Broncos looked much like the Sharks did last week vs the Knights- making breaks but stuffing them up- but their class advantage in the outside backs compared to the helpless Sharks backline shone through and they converted some of their chances (not as many as their coaching staff would like, I would reckon). Hodges looks to be nearly unstoppable this season, without injury to slow him down.
Civoniceva slotted straight back into the starting line up like the champion he is, and he and Hannant are wreaking havoc with opposition teams at the moment. Norman is growing in to the role and looks better each week. I think Wallace stepped up too this week, and needed to. Broncos are a real title threat, even without Lockyer.
Wish the Knights made that many errors last week- their ball handling was pretty bad. Buderus still looks to be a great purchase (completely against my expectations)- shame he has to be rested in games now, Hilder looks a bit flustered by the pace of first grade nowadays. Uate is still as deadly as anyone in space. Stig is a work in progress but looked alright, I thought. Knights need to tidy their game a bit and I think they can still be strong this year.
