How did he get man of the match? When you score four tries in one match you're pretty hard done by if you don't come into calculations in my opinion.

Really feel for Ben Cummins on that one.

Classic Skeep. Wouldnt expect anything less.

Just got back from the game. Quite an entertaining night :D

Hannant was great, as was Petero, Norman and Hoffman.

Very poor effort from the Raiders. Never even looked close to scoring after the first 10 minutes.

And the best news is... we face the Titans next week!!!:lol:

Thanks for that Skeepe. I was in stitches for most of the thread...

Raiders had 15 mins of fame, scored a lucky try and were steamrolled for the rest of the game.

The worst call of the game was by far the Ferguson grab of Reed when the latter had everything to score a try. Not sure about a penalty try, but definitely a bin offense!

Broncos very impressive without Wallace tonight. Hunt played a solid game, Norman was fantastic, Hoffman was excellent. The forwards were great, I thought Petero had a stand out night.

Raiders were quite poor, lots of dropped ball, but outclassed really all over the park. Raiders forwards were solid for half the game but Brisbane forwards really dominated and gave the likes of Hodges a good platform.

Good summary.

Very low metres in most sets from both sides, with Broncos worse in many plays. They will want to fix that up, though Raiders forwards are clearly quite good at the metres contest. But penalties, drop balls and line breaks kept them in good attacking position most of the night. They didn't really look to be out of 2nd gear but didn't need it. Norman is really starting to mature- very good signs for the future of the Broncos. Hoffman is still under rated even though he has been great many times in the last 2 years (despite some injury time). Hodges is looking scary all season so far.

Raiders were rubbish, but it was nice to be able to see them on FTA...
I think the Raiders forwards held their own most of the match, missing Fensom, so that wasn't so bad. Just the poor discipline and ball handling kept them out of the match. And their backs struggled to contain the Broncos whenever they went wide (or whenever Hodges got the ball). Plus they looked lost when Campese went off. Hope he is OK. I know they needed to win to stay around the 8, but it was a big risk taking him into the game when they need him to perform all season (look at their last two seasons when he has been out).

Every Raiders player should today send a message of gratitude to North Qld for their Round 1 effort. Without that, last night would've been the worst performance for the year by a fair margin. Canberra were horrific.

To win that well despite the lack of Te'o and Wallace, regardless of the quality of the opposition, is so pleasing.

6-1 after the first seven rounds. I doubt even the most optimistic of Broncos fans would've had us placed like this before the start of the season.

6-1 record, yet I still don't think the team is playing that well. Glad to be in second place but honestly playing like a team that should be coming tenth. Could chalk up the lack of polish due to Wallace being out though it has been consistent with the first six games.

It will be interesting to see how they go against the usual suspects when the whips are cracking.

The broncos need to lift their game imo, the raiders were woeful and were duely dispatched by the better side but the broncos arent going to trouble teams at the pointy end of the season with the creativity they've shown so far this year

they are a strong running team and will compete in every game but they need more punch in attack to be a real threat imo. They are missing Lockyer's creativity in the halves. They've got all the pieces to a premiership winning season save for that x-factor in the creative

Our young halves are inexperienced, but played quite well last night and tore your team to pieces.
Six tries, most of which either Norman or Hunt had a hand in. If Hunt had been a bit more accurate with his kicking, chances are Copley and Beale would've scored a try each as well. And this while still showing some of that rough edge due to inexperience, and picking wrong options like going back inside, when there were overlaps out wide.

I'm liking this team very much, and liking the fact we have amazing depth to cope injuries and hopefully the rep season. Griffin is doing an amazing job harnessing the talent and making these boys play for eachother!

How? They have a 19 year old as a 5/8.

The club has decided not to buy experience. They are developing a young team that could well be dominant for years to come, all of which will eventually receive salary cap discounts. Look at the ages of Norman, Hoffman, Mcullough, Hunt etc.
