Been saying it for years, there is usually no better positioned person to make a call than a linesman but they wait for the VR to save arses. They are making a lot more 'no calls' and get away with it because they don't directly lead to tries on that exact play.
The Hayne SOO 'no try' was the perfect example, he didn't put his flag up at the time so he obviously thought he stayed in.
