Sri Lanka bowling first, this could be over quickly.
Afghanistan need at least 200 if they want an unlikely upset.

nice 50, they are trundling along well - that said, be surprised if Sri Lanka don't easily chase down any target here

I wouldn't write off Afghanistan if they get 240 odd and Shapoor has a good day.
Get the Sri Lankan big three and "all of a sudden ..."

Meh, Matthews and Thirimanne are due and they have a deep lineup in this game... surprised they haven't persevered with Chandimal - like Umar Akmal he sees quite a talent...

Afghanis under the pump now

Good to see Andy Moles still around...

I thought he was out of his depth when he was in control of the Black Caps...

But he always seemed like a nice bloke...

This Hassan bloke (the guy with shit all over his head) can bowl really well.

Afghanistan looks like a country worth persevering with. They have an established countries standard bowler, two other very handy bowlers and a batting unit with a shitload of heart.

Excellent stuff from this Afghan bowler. Has found the edge a few times in the last couple of overs, only for the slips to be taken out. Get a wicket with first slip back in.

If the Afghans pull off an upset here, this is really going to make Pool A interesting, and will put further pressure on England to make the Quarters. And so much for the ICC only having 10 teams in the 2019 World Cup. In fact, they only wanted 10 teams for this World Cup. How are thr Associate Members supposed to improve if they dont get regular exposure against the test playing nations? Yeah, there will be a few thrashings here and there, but that will be ironed out over time and teams like Ireland would improve within a short time if they were given test status. Stuff the BCCI and ECB

*continued

The ICC need to take a leaf out of the IRB's book. Rugby Union, as a game, sucks but the IRB are excellent at marketing their inferior product. They persevered with countries like Japan, and now Japan has a professional domestic competition and will be hosting the World Cup in 2019

Seems like the ICC, like the NRL, are trying their best to stop expansion of the game.

Very true. England could really do with a bowler like Hassan and swap Steve Finn for him. One of the fastest bowlers to 50 ODI wickets on a year, and bowls at good pace around the mid 140s. Reminds me of Peter Siddle from a few years ago when he still was bowling close to 150kph.
