Great game to watch - Three mistakes by our wingers led to 13 Storm points.

Really pleased with the crowd, great effort by the travelling Melbourne fans...I was in that corner and there was a fair few of them across a couple of bays.

But yeah, we could have won that game. It's ok, we're still better than everyone else except the Storm and Manly. Worst possible game to try and bounce back into winning form in two weeks time as well.

There's a world of difference between being vocally involved in the ebb and flow of the game and not knowing the rules.

Ingliss blatantly kicked the ball dead-in-goal and the Burrow start booing. What else did they expect? Force it dead and it's a drop out. Reminds me of that game in 2011 when Taylor grounded the ball short of the line and put in an Oscar-worthy performance to sell the try and when the try was rightfully disallowed the Souffs fans felt hard done by.

If a call goes against my team and I have the savvy of knowing the laws of the game then I don't boo and carry on like a pork chop. I nod my head and acknowledge the right decision was made.

Ignorance is not necessarily bliss.
The booing is not always necessarily a result of the immediate play around the ball, sometimes it is players being taken out and such that the referees don't see. And your team are pros at pushing the boundaries in these ways, so its no surprise there was a fair bit of booing.

Really happy with the win. Bellyache is the master of isolating one or two players and negating their effectiveness/exploiting their weaknesses and did so again tonight. Reynolds and GI have been killing it so far this year but clearly he targeted them and IMO neither had any real affect on the game.

No doubt Souths will get better as the season progresses and they'll be right there at the business end but i still think our blokes have much more improvement as well. The rep season will hurt us as usual but we showed last season it's not insurmountable.

You guys are probably the most negative crowd in the league. I remember a game last year where you comfortably beat the raiders and the souths fans booed from minute 1 to 80.

I disagree. GI threw his own game off with silly passes. Kicks in space took him out a little but he still looked dangerous.

Reynolds I think should be commended for a good game, he was pressured and negated a lot in the first half but he adjusted himself in the second half and pulled off some classy plays like the chip and chase, the kick and chase where he pushed the Storm winger back in goal, the well placed bomb for GI and the cut out pass for Everingham to score a try. I think he was very impressive to cope with a ton of pressure being placed on him and come out the other side

Maybe so, probably a bit of a persecution complex considering our history :p

But I don't think it's a bad thing. Better a vocal crowd than a passive one. Go watch an NZ game when they are getting beaten to see what that's like

I remember hearing a story about a butthurt Souffs fan in the finals last year who abused a little kid on a Melbourne tram. The tram lurched and the kid bumped in to this travelling Souths fan and he threatened the child, who was only 8-11 years old, with physical violence.

Pride of the league, my arse.

Quoting hearsay and then using one fan as a sweeping generalisation.

You're pretty clever.

 I remember hearing this one time this storm fan stole a purse from a little old lady. The lady was paying for something at the counter and she had her purse out. She was 70 years old.

This is normal behaviour of all Melbournes scum supporters..

I'm not saying either didnt do any good things at all but that doesn't necessarily constitute a good game. They were ok but i just don't think they had anywhere near the influence they've had in the opening rounds of the season and IMO. Overall though i thought Souths were pretty good.

Yeah. I was there. Saw the whole thing. He then turkey slapped her afterwards.

The sooner souths bring Luke Keary into there side the better off theyll be, Sutton gets shut down too easy as he's too slow to react to a fast moving defence

I agree. He is a great player, but he is playing like a back rower. Keary will add a lot to us. And Suto will serve us better in the backrow

We really targeted GI's lack of mobility and he got shown up badly. We were constantly turning him around and making him run and it hurt him in attack as well. Surprised more teams haven't realised how much of a liability he is at the back.

The worst was the sets where souths held us to like our 30 and we would still just find the ground on our kick and get down the other end.

Overall the game ended up close but i think souths were lucky to be that close. Come finals time if we meet them again i will be extremely confident.

A liability at the back? LOL. Have you watched us play this season?

He is almost single-handedly responsible for the roll on we get in our sets. No matter where the kick is, he manages to field it, turn around, fend/beat the first 1-2 tacklers, and break the advantage line.

Last night wasn't his best performance, but to call GI a 'liability at the back' is bordering on stupidity.
