Only one player really worries me about this whole series tbh, and thats Inglis.

He has the ability to tear us a new one all f**king series. he needs to be contained.

I agree...Slater and Cronk have not set the world on fire in the last month and Thurston is in the same form as well.

Everyone is saying that the Queensland outside backs will win it for them but I honestly think that Ferguson will thrive in this type of big game and Hayne has the experience as well to nullify any breaks by GI.

the QLD backline will be too much I reckon, it's practically the Australian backline with the exception of Morris

QLD backline is not that amazing. Obviously Slater, Inglis, cronk and Thurston shits on their opposing numbers but the other 3 would be lucky to make the NSW side.

If Reynolds only plays for 10 minutes or less, we got dis. Blues by 4.
If he plays for longer than that, QLD by 2.

Doesn't matter too much about the other 3 when you have those 4 filling the important positions.

First game = series.

NSW lose - series over. NSW win... they have a bees dick chance of winning back at home in a decider.

First game win or it's all over.

NSW have a terrific chance of bring the shield home if they win game one. We're well, well overdue for a win up there (will take plenty of confidence from SOOIII last year) and if not, will be hard to beat at home in a decider imo.

NSW have a good record in NSW...here's hoping that NSW put on a show and do Qld by quite a bit and this will be the end of them.

That's true but
Slater
Hodges
Tate
Thurston
Boyd
Cronk

Are not coming in at great form. Granted they will probably pick up for this occasion but NSW backs have more in form at this point

Hayne
Jennings
Ferguson
Maloney
Pearce

All coming into the series on or either coming into form. Hayne lifts for origin and has been gaining form the past 4 weeks. The only 2 out of form are the Morris boys.

Where for QLD inglis is the only one in form. But he is probably the most dangerous out of both backlines.

Forwards for mine are pretty even.

Looking forward to it.

This is probably the best chance we have to stop the dominance of QLD.

NSW do it every year, they try to pick combinations rather then try to establish a core team of players who can get the opportunity to gel with one and other in the space of a 3 game series, hasn't worked in years.

It's not like our forwards are going to be crawled all over either.

I reckon it's only going to need QLD to get off to a good start before NSW players and fans start getting that reminder of which team has been the dominant team for the last 7 years.

Should be a great game though.

They are starting to form a core with

Hayne
Gallen
Bird
Pearce
Morris'
Lewis

And those combinations will be good because they're built in origin

I'm pretty confident of a win here.

A few people like to sh*t on the Maloney selection but I think they have the right guy. Carney may be the more gifted player talent-wise but appears intimidated by the Origin arena. Maloney has the mentality for this sort of fight.

I like the Maloney selection he will take a lot of ball playing away from Pearce which is a good thing

If recent years are any indication, flamboyant attacking play will be non existent. All 3 games will be tight and each game will come down to which side holds their nerve at the back end of the game. My fear (and trepidation) is the series could be decided by a shoulder charge penalty try in the 79th minute. God I hope I'm wrong but rest assured you can bet NSW will be on the receiving end if this pans out.

Not interested in any technical analysis, I just want to see some maroon blood spilt on the turf.

Smash the sons of bitches boys!
