And had Feki dragged him over it would of been a penalty for the knights, if you wish to upkeep the held call then it would be a penalty sharks for passing off the ground. Hayne just let it run it's course.

100% agree

Not if the rest of the season is anything to go by. All year in instances where the player has passed when the ref called held the red tells the player to go back and play the ball.

Then again, that'd be asking for consistency, and we all know that's a dirty word in the refereeing ranks

Shane Hayne is embarrassingly inept. Let's call it inept because my preferred term would see the post deleted. He called "Held!" TWICE but then allowed play to go on anyway. The Pomeroy Gidley encounter should never have been in the position to occur.

It was a punch for Kurt Gidley. To be fair, you can understand why the ref didn't think it was... Kinda looked like he was trying to shoo a fly.

Where have you been for the last few years?

A pass after the held call is "go back and play it".
