I think with the 10m call on the dropout, they may have ruled it touched Nielsen's leg. I'm not sure that it did but if that was the ruling it changes it from being a diabolical call to a poor call.

No doubt Manly deserved to win but it wasn't without an element of luck. They probably picked up the luck that the 20s missed out on.

ABC needed Daniel Anderson in the box to explain that (and other) decisions to them.

Difference being, Hurrell is 20 and only in his 3 year of rugby league at any level, whereas the big dummy Vatuvei is in his 10th season of NRL and is still as stupid and he was in year one. I would take 1 Hurrell over 50 Vatuvei's.

On a separate note, Johnson was a defensive beast today. Just show's if you have real talent you can actually improve weaknesses in your game.

Do you think he'll ever have a crack at diminishing his massive ego, learning how to kick, and organise? That play on tackle 2 20 metres out from their line when he kicked it out near the corner flag is up there with Terry Lamb potting a field goal when behind by 2. Also, his insistence on flinging bombs skyward from 50 metres out has to change too. He got a footballing exhibition in halves play from Foran and DCE today. Pity of it is is that he should be just as good if not better than them based on pure ability. The difference is they don't have massive egos, and also play with their brain engaged.

As soon as the ball went out, it became a very poor decision no doubt, but he was trying to make something happen which i can live with from my halfback. The bombs are a tactic used by every team, it's just that they become more of an attacking play the faster a teams outside backs are in terms of the pressure they can put on the catcher, sadly the Warriors outside backs are pretty average in the speed department. I think SJ's decision making will improve with experience like all players, as for his inflated ego, i have seen no real evidence of this. Foran and DCE are ahead of Johnson in terms of footballing maturity no doubt, but the difference in terms of coaching and player class and experience those two guys have had the good fortune to start their careers surrounded by, compared to some of the garbage Johnson has had to put up with are worlds apart. Swap them around and Johnson would be a lot further along than he is now.

Great to see Manly record a comfortable victory despite having to overcome the extremely biased refereeing. One day the refs may give us an even chance... I live in hope.

Glad to get a win today was a little bit concerned pre match. Injuries hitting everyone at the moment.

That's first time I seen the warriors live since gf2011. I'd hate to support them. They have some freakishly talented players and should be a top 4 side. They have blokes doing the hard yards too not just the flashy players. Great side on their day but my god they do some dumb things. A top line coach could have them building a Melbourne style dynasty (minus the cheating). Potential like no other team in years yet never fully deliver.

Manly spend most of the time offside, their dummy halves are covering half the backline... bring on the Burgess boys to give your fellas a Liverpool kiss!
