Well played Newcastle, you deserve to put forty on us.
One of the worst team performances Ive seen, especially when so call "talent" is factored into it.
No more BS talk about being Grand Final chances from now on is the only good thing to take from this.
Given that the only other match we've played this year has been against a fired-up Manly at Brookvale... it's hard to say what we're like outside of those conditions, really. I'm getting the feeling we might be tough to beat at home this year.Hunter Stadium on a Monday night turns teams into spastics. That's all I can figure from this. Either that or the Knights are awesome entirely in a vacuum filled with Monday and Hunter Stadium.
It's dead set the same as us against Manly. We get our arses flogged at that venue so thoroughly and hard every single year. It has little bearing on the rest of your season. The Cowboys will be there or there abouts come business end of the season. It's good to get these bogey games out of the way early. We always play terrible against the knights. I don't know what it is but it's like we just never show up, ever. On the other side to that, the knights always play their grand final against us, everything they touch turns to gold and Mullen ends up playing like Wally Lewis.
I'm not sure why I expected any differently this time

... and I suppose we write off the Cowboys because they've been shocking tonight? Just trying to get a feel for where your logic begins and your preconceptions end.Yeah but let's be honest, Manly were good but Newcastle were pretty shocking in that match.

If I had any doubts that we could be a genuine contender this year after last weeks performance, then those were removed tonight. Cowboys were awful, but we performed phenomenally.
newi at their best can beat any side. they have played some real impressive games now & again the last few years but need to be more consistent. especially mullin needs to play ike this a lot more often & roberts is a good player should be left in the halves.
maybe move gidley to dummy half centre or even lock?
I'm expecting a 'Cowboys are a myth' thread on the main board any minute, and who could argue against it.
