Anyone one want to meet for a piss up after match?

Bay 37. I said that I wanted to be part of the away supporters area.

Put in a sneaky tenner for a Roosters/Panthers finish at 210 return.

C'mon Pennies. Make me rich.

Rooster lead 10-6 at halftime through the referee. A clear double movement try awarded without going to the video referee. On first viewing I thought for sure it was double movement and would go to video referee as a no try. But apparently not a single official saw it and were happy to award it on the spot. Giving the Roosters the lead when it should have been a Penrith penalty.

Close game so far, and I feel that could come back to haunt Penrith. Even if they had the rub of the green, it would have been hard enough to win. Can't be copping calls like that and still having a genuine chance at winning.

LOL at Rabs saying at the end of the telecast "From A-lianz stadium" instead of AL-ianz stadium. Reminds me of his infamous "Wid-DOP"

Gus has ruined the Panthers.

Because they were going sooo great before Gus when Leary and Matty Elliott ran the ship? Please judge Gus' influence next year and in 2015 when their cap probs have been sorted and the players he has convinced to come put on a Panthers jersey.

I think he and cleary have them in the right direction. Unfortunately like parra. Penrith is going to be a big job to rebuild.

Their forward pack is good. Just lack a half and some decent wingers (mostly Simmons)

Roosters have had te rub of the green at times today. Penrith put up a good fight for a good part of the game

The better team won but we had no luck.

SBW's was no try. Going in a halftime 6 all gives us confidence. Jennings 1st try 9/10 times it goes to the video ref. The bounce for Jennings' 2nd try nothing we could do with that.

Add a few other line balls let go & you have no luck. Which you need as a shit team.

Humble is actually worse then Walsh. Brown's a hog. Segeyaro had a shocker beside's that we turned up atleast.

Elliott got them to 2nd in 2010.

And if you're going to defend Gus I suggest not bringing up recruitment and retention because he's failing hard there.

Jennings is an elite centre who never should have been allowed to leave. Meanwhile the highlight of Gus' recruiting is Jamie bloody Soward.

Gus has now had 2 offseasons and the squad has gone severely backwards by getting rid of the few genuine talents they had and having a group that is largely a squad full of average players.

Bunnies butt you are not real bright are you

Simple fact if no changes where made we where looking at 16 players eating the whole cap with in 2 years. The most expensive jennings .The club had no choices but to move players on.We are building a good squad with some huge talent very close from our under 20 team.Mix that in with the new buys and things start turning around

To a point I agree, but the key positions are lacking. Now who is at fault, honestly. I don't know and these players don't grow on trees. However someone needs to fix it, Coote is a good player but can you tell me you will win a comp with him at 5/8? That said your U20's look good, and honestly the results in 4 years are what Gould and Cleary must be judged on.

We made the finals once in his time at the Panthers. The club is clearly headed in the right direction now. Assuming we ditch Luke Walsh as rumored and sign a decent half for 2014. This side would run rings around our 2013 side:

1. Matt Moylan
2. Travis Robinson
3. Dean Whare
4. James Roberts
5. Josh Mansour
6. Jamie Soward
7. Sam Williams / Todd Carney / Shaun Johnson
8. Tim Grant (c)
9. James Segayaro
10. Brent Kite
11. Sika Manu
12. Lewis Brown
13. Elijah Taylor

14. Sam McKendry
15. Adam Docker / Mose Masoe / Jeremy Latimore
16. Blake Austin / Matt Robinson / Vaipuna Tia Kilifi / Anthony Cherrington
17. Matt Robinsom / Vaipuna Tia Kilifi / Anthony Cherrington / Blake Austin

Matt Moylan is looking the goods in first grade, and will only be better in 2014 after his run in the top grade this season.

Jamie Soward would easily be the best 5/8 at the Panthers since Preston Campbell left. That doesn't say much, but he is a handy player with a great kicking game and managed to lead the Dragons to a premiership not long ago without a proper halfback.

At halfback anyone of those guys would be a huge upgrade from Luke Walsh. They would also be in a good position at the Panthers playing behind a good forward pack with a solid partner at 5/8. Which will hopefully help us sign one of them.

James Segayaro is a beast off the bench and deserves more minutes.... which gives us a spine that is well and truly ahead of anything we have had since 2006.

Front row is going well this season despite not picking ACTUAL front rowers most weeks. Next season a rotation of Kite, Grant and McKendry is a great start and would be rounded out well with anyone of Docker, Masoe and Latimore. There's quality, experience and depth here. This doesn't include some of the more promising guys who could at some point put their hands up this season.

Second row is arguably our biggest strength with most signings being second rowers. Elijah Taylor will likely come in and play lock for us, Brown and Manu are pretty handy in our second row this season. Matt Robinson has been good for us in most of his first grade appearances, while Austin and Cherrington have been killing it in reserve grade and already have first grade experience behind them. Then there's Vaipuna Tia Kilifi who will be one of the best second rowers the Panthers have brought into first grade since Frank Pritchard.

Then not far behind them there are some ridiculous talents like George Jennings, Bryce Cartright, Dallin Watene Zelezniak, Tony Satini, Daniel Foster etc. who could even put pressure on first graders this season.

Our results in 2013 are far from where we want them to be in first grade. But things are definitely looking good for the future. Gus has come in and identified our key weaknesses, and done a hell of a job in working toward fixing them. Just fixing the halves alone would go along way to fixing some of our other issues. But he has given us quality depth, improved our Under 20's, put more focus on our reserve grade team as the secondary team rather then Under 20's. WIth the stars being promoted to play against grown men and being better prepared for first grade.

I'm not saying every decision Gus has made is perfect. But the club has definitely moved in the right direction and is setup for a stable future thanks to him.

Moylan looks to be our fullback atleast for a while yet. With Dallin Watene-Zelezniak being a freak of a player that will take over him in the next couple of years. We're pretty well off already, but when DWZ forces his way into first grade it will be something special if he comes even close to delivering on our expectations of him.

Jamie Soward is our 5/8 for 2014. With Coote either being let go or our depth. Then there's Blake Austin who can cover 5/8, but will more then likely end up in the second row.

Halfback at the moment is a big unknown. But the most likely scenario at the moment seems to be Luke Walsh leaving and Sam Williams replacing him. Which would be a great buy for us. We're also going pretty hard after Todd Carney, but that doesn't look like it will work out. Bit like the Thurston situation.

We have Segayaro at hooker... arguably the best young hooker going around. But at the very least he is a quality player that adds alot and with a decent halfback would complete a very solid spine. A huge improvement over the past half a decade.
