Watching the game it looked like it was about -5C.

Once they get players like Inglis and Thurston back in the team, they'll start to play a lot better.

A 50-0 scoreline looks like a thrashing but Australia werent really at their best and Ireland didnt even look like scoring.

Plus some of those penalties were a joke. If the conditions are slippery the refs have the consider the play the balls arent going to be that quick.

Another interesting selection is whether DCE will remain in the team playing off the bench or will they keep Farah.

I cant believe how daft some people are on here sometimes. The ref did not "favour" England against Fiji or Aus against Ireland, the problem was is the "minnows" are tired after working harder against better players, so are more likely to concede penalties in defence, because they are tired they try to slow play down more, therefore giving away more penalties. Its's pretty simple when you take off your "minnow" hat.

Add to that the commitment (stupidity) of some of the Fijians defence and discipline throughout the comp and I think they have been lucky in all their games.

If you had bothered to read my post properly I wasn't just referring to England, I was referring to the smaller nations in general not being as hard done by as numpties like you on here seem to think. Only a moron would suggest differently.

Since your so sure and, of course, I was blinded, perhaps you could point some of these "tons" of calls that went the way of England.

It's exactly the point, the fact that the England were going to win that game all day is the reason guys on here are bagging the refs, because you were all going soft for Fiji/Ireland/France V NZ e.t.c

I agree. In every one of Fji's games they have struggled when A Sims and Petero have had a rest, this was the case either side of half time for them in this game too, especially after half time.

Of course these are rugby related reasons why Fiji weren't going to win so they havent been touched upon on here.

Ireland totally deserved penalising, they tried to slow the game down so much, something they have done consistently throughout the comp.

As for Fiji, they are a bunch of indisciplined idiots who deserved penalising much more in every game they have played in. Never seen a team dish out what they cant take as much as them.

Just to add to that, Fiji were very very lucky to finish with 13 men on the field. I can't remember which of the sims brothers it was, but the terrible spear by one of them was a send off offense.

If you can't see that it's because you're as subconsciously bias as the refs are in which case there's no point even pointing to the suspect calls.

And it should have been Westwood and Burgess gone against Australia but I don't remember seeing you saying that anywhere.

There was nothing in the Fiji - Ireland game worth sending off for, and if you were to argue there was the worst challenge of the night was by an Irish player on Korbin Sims :roll: You know, the blatant high shot which riled Fiji up in the first place.

Dodgy calls against Fiji in the England game, seeing as you must have listened to the game on radio and missed them all, were

A call of a ball going forward when a Fiji player dropped it backwards
Call against Fiji when an English player dropped the ball cold
Call against Fiji when a Fiji player was stripped but it was called as dropping the ball cold
Fiji denied a try because Korbin Sims tackled Tomkins, who was arguably commited (not that it matters because Tomkins was no chance of stopping the try)
Ref going to video ref after already calling a no-try for Ryan Hall(It was a try but that's besides the point)

There was a mixed-bag of harsh calls against Fiji in the first half. The main being that every time a Fijian dropped or was stripped of the ball it went against them, where as every time England did the same it went in their favour + the no try because Tomkins was tackled was an awful call.

Fiji have in no way had a fair go with the referees. Playing physical smash mouth league isn't illegal - That's all Fiji are guilty of, one bad spear tackle aside.

England clearly the better side but who knows what the score could have been with a few incorrect calls against Fiji removed. They likely could have gone into half time a try up and may have fared better in the second half
