Surprised it took England this long to hammer them with bombs (although being unable to get to the kick in the first half didn't help).

it landed infront of where he lost it, only looks backwards because he kept moving after knocking it on.

This is the forward pass argument again. The ball was knocked backwards and traveled forward from where it was hit due to momentum. I admit I'm not 100% sure on the specifics of the rule, but to me it should be treated the same way a forward pass is, which I assume is what happened with this ruling.
