Why do fans,when their team get hammered,blame the penalty count when it was the discipline on their teams own undoing that actually cost them?

Refs don't give away penalties just for the sake of it as there is too much scrutiny from all angles.

I understand the frustration if a ref misses a penalty that a team should have got.

But if your side gets penalised for an indiscretion,then it's probably more than likely,warranted.

Souths were the better side and deserved to win but they weren't a 20 point better side. That's what's frustrating when the refs performance is so shit. You're just left thinking 'what ifs'. Agreed. Big Red V just didn't have much luck tonight. Happens. Still, if they are top 8 material they gotta learn how to survive that.

i'm not saying he should be dropped just he was shit tonight. i like dugan as a player, lot of potential but last years form could have been him playing for a contract & point to prove after the shit with canberra.

i hope i'm wrong & he has a great season, hopefully he doesn't go back to having one great game every few weeks.

imo every player should be on performance contracts! you don't play well you don't get the big $$$! i guarantee players like GI, hayne, boyd, damn all the big name players will be playing out of their skin for the $$$.
