Fair call . Ch 9 have their favourites & they are all crap teams atm.

Agreed, I agree broncs shouldn't be on friday, to be honest I'd love to see more cowboys after the way they played at the 9's, but unfortunately the games schedule is run by 9 even though every one denies it and we are stuck with what they think rates best

Pretty sad to see what Sunday afternoon footy on 9 has become. As a kid it was the one game I looked forward to regardless.

Doesn't help that the teams that made those games exciting are pure shit.

Missed second half but what I saw in the first half Franky is taking being a captain seriously, he made three tackles in a row at one stage..shame he knocked on straight aftter but it was a good effort.

Oh God BM called it. He is 2/2 and I am 0/2. Had to happen eventually I suppose.

That was one very ordinary game of football. Both sides look devoid of ideas in attack. Ennis looks like a bloke in need of moving on.

Just on the Maranta try, Hodkinson stays with Hannant on his run through the line because he knows that Hunt can't run behind him.
Pretty clear cut obstruction for me.

Who the f**k watches the Sunday channel 9 game without knowing the score?

Me

I've only just finished watching the Dogs v Broncos game and i didn't know the score of that either

It was a bit of a lack lustre game at times

The Broncos had the first half but could pile on the points.
The Dogs had the second half and couldn't score much at all

The Broncos fell over the line when the Dogs probably should have been sewing up the game

Good win for the Broncos away from home

Barba is a class above anything we've had running around at fullback since the cutie days, problem is that we don't have any sort of experienced half to control the game to get us the field position to let him do his best up the money end of the field.

Most of our wins this season are going to be grinding efforts where we will be relying on penalties or individual efforts to get field position to do that backline play because I seen absolutely no creativity from our halves tonight.

Hoffman isn't a 5/8, he's a strong runner of the ball with his evasive footwork but he didn't pass the ball at all tonight, chuck him on the wing.

Copley & Maranta had pretty good games by their standards. Vidot looks like an intimidating figure on the wing as well.

It could be a long season, perhaps Milford next season will add some spark from a halves perspective. Be lucky to make the 8 unless Hunt comes on in leaps and bounds.

If the Broncos show that kind of commitment in defence all season they will make the 8, period.

That game reminded me of Broncos vs Eels two years ago, both teams had literally nothing in attack. The Broncos won that won too, just.

By the time Hunt runs behind Hannant, Hannant has gone passed the defensive line, and no one was impeded...

Wow. ..

The precedent has been set as Gus said.

That will revolutionize attacking play the rest of the year.

They've decided you can now run behind players.

If other teams can execute the play like the broncos tonight it shouldnt be an issue,

Hannant ran through the defensive line without impeding any defenders and Hunt had run behind Hannant by the time he had passed the defensive players as well.

Hodkinson, you can't run behind your own player.
Hodkinson stays with Hannant because Hunt isn't supposed to be able to run behind him.

Hunt didnt run behind Hannat, until Hannant was past the defensive line...........

The rule is that you can't run behind your own player to gain an advantage. It doesn't say anything about before or after the defensive line.
IMO, Hunt gained an advantage because Hodkinson was drawn into Hannant because Hunt isn't supposed to be able to run behind Hannant.

People are going to disagree with that, but that's my take on it.

Hannant never impeded the defender. If he took his eyes off the player holding the ball, that's his issue. he didn't seem to go after Hannant with his movements.

Holy f**king shit Maranta, what the hell happened to you over the off season.

I'm very happy with that result. The boys got stuck in with some serious grit and mongrel and wrestled the win away from the Dogs. Our halves, as everyone have said, continue to be our biggest negative. Hoffman was awful and Hunt was almost pedestrian. It was all Barba when it came to the playmaking. That grubber from him to Copley was brilliant and the mark of a naturally talented player. He will be so important for us this year. Vidot had a very solid game and so did Maranta. He has earned his chance next round before we start sharpening our axes.

Also:

Gone with the Broncs by 6 because of the Barba effect

I'll see myself out.

Hannant didnt Run or make contact with Hodkinson did he? Hodkinson moved towards Hannant the Decoy which is allowed..

What advantage did Hunt get by running behind Hannant (who was already passed the Bulldogs Defense making this argument even dumber)

OBSTRUCTION a) It is the responsibility of the decoy runner/s not to interfere with the defending team. b) The ball runner cannot run behind his own team and gain an advantage. c) A sweep player may receive the ball on the inside of a block runner as long as there is depth on the pass to him. It there is no depth he needs to receive the ball on the outside of the block runner. d) Defensive decisions that commit defenders to decoy runners will not be considered obstruction. e) Attacking players who loiter next to the play the ball can be interpreted as obstructing the defending team. f) In the process of scoring a try an attacking player dives through or into the legs of the player who has played the ball a penalty will be awarded to the defending team. This action will be interpreted as obstruction. g) If in the opinion of the referee/video referee the play had no effect on the scoring of the try the try will be awarded
