A nice practice game to dust off the cobwebs and fine tune our structures.

Blaming the injuries would be considered not just an insult to the Panthers who worked bluddy hard for this win,but also insulting for the Newcastle team after the effort that their subs put on in place of those that where replaced.

The problem goes beyond just losing those spine players though.

It forces the bench players/forwards to play significantly longer than they normally would have been expected to in unfamiliar positions.

There's nothing to say that the Panthers wouldn't have won without those injuries, we simply don't know, but to say it's an insult to the Panthers and Newcastle is just fan overreaction.

I'd say the bigger insult would be you referring to it as "A nice practice game".

Mansour is an absolute freak, lol@ any team that would let him go

Scary thing is we had about 4 more forward passes not called

Did you miss the 1st half when he was put into a gap off the scrum 20m out and was rounded up and put into touch? 90% of wingers have enough speed to score. Great player maybe not suited to wing when we get backs back will be interesting how long he stays in the team. Rumours were Nabuli had the spot until being injured hence Whare changing sides

You obviously watch alot more Panthers games than the rest of us Franklin, but I just can't see how Mansour's spot even comes into contention. I can see your point about his lack of speed, but his ability to truck it out of his own half on a kick return or tackle one is priceless.

I've said for a few years that he should be in the mix for a SOO spot, and if it wasn't for injury, I think he might have had a Blue jersey by now.

Pretty much the whole season we discussed this in Penrith forum his strengths can be used somewhere else hence off the bench him and Peachey coming on late in the halves. he's not the best under the high ball either. Given Nabuli was meant to be the winger. use Nabuli in the place of him.

Nabuli scores in the 1st half when Mansour goes into touch. Mansour's 2nd try he scores. Mansour's 1st was freakish though Nabuli isn't exactly easy to tackle add to that a great vertical leap he more then likely gets the kick we scored our 1st off rather then needing a Uate drop to get it.

He's off contract this year will get a contract no doubt

Believe it or not,the first 3-5 rounds are exactly that, practice rounds in getting everything fine tuned.

Have another look at some teams again and you'll see that they need those few weeks for the rust removal.

The Panthers at times looked a bit comical when communications broke down especially when Taylor (I think) employed that hurried kick when caught in two minds.

We'll all know in a month or so who are the so-called contenders and pretenders.;-)

Without wanting to comment on Nabuli specifically (as I know nothing about him), I think Panther fans suffer from the same "delusions" as us Eels fans when it comes to our juniors. Always going to be world beaters, but alot never quite live up to the hype. Guilty of it regularly myself.
