Looking at the wording of the rule, seems like the correct call though.

In fairness, Eels fans have a reason to be salty.
It's all well and good saying that a call is correct, the problem is for years there has been zero consistency on certain rules, with refs only acting once in a blue moon.
Unless refs have been told to crack down on tackles in the act of scoring 9 times out 10 that would never be a penalty try.
