The first month is always a write off for us. We will lose to parra and the dragons etc and then beat melbourne and manly etc to limp into 10th. Same ole.

Parra went to sleep in the last 10 could have hit 50 IMO! Warriors surely have a better 5/8 than Townsend!

Sharks fans were really hoping Townsend would kick on after a good number of first grade games, but he seems to have gone backwards over time, as teams work out his kicks, which are his only real weapon.

I hope he can adapt and become a regular first grader, but the Warriors need better than that showing in first grade to be competitive.

Yep, lets judge an import on his first game. Sam Burgess was bog f**king average when he started, now he's a media darling.

Had as much impact as Sam Burgess did when he first moved too. Your fear of him coming good is palpable.

Did he start slow? I thought he was pretty good basically from day 1. He had also absolutely carved up the Australian team before he set foot in the NRL. I don't think there was any question he would be great.

I don't think the same is true of Tomkins. At the very least i don't think he is worth the big bucks with so many good fullbacks around.

Tomkins has played pretty damn well in Internationals against Australia.

It takes more than one game to make a player.

Eels shock the world. Good on them.

Tomkins is not the superstar people think he is. He in his prime years reminds me of a 30 year old Billy Slater.

The only people who think he is a marquee level talent are people who do not understand the difference in quality between the SL and the NRL. He looked amazing over there because all the players around him were all relatively slower and less skilled. Here he is just like most NRL first graders and does not and will not stand out.

Eels thoroughly deserved that. Impressive D and just far far more committed side.

Warriors: same $hit different year.

SJ where were you?

Not sure what people expected from Tomkins. He's a guy who links with the halves and outside backs to create scoring opportunities.

Warriors had very few opportunities, and when they did he came up with two try assists, almost put Fish away for a third and if Manu wasn't so flat in attack he would've put him away down the wing for a break. If two try assists per game is the worst he does all year I won't be complaining too much.

Eels didn't hammer the Warriors forwards but they did very well of wrapping up the tackler to prevent offloads/quick roll ons where guys like Tomkins can come into their own.

Great. Either your expectations will be met, or your heart will be broken. I don't know where the confidence is coming from tbh

They were met.

No matter what happens they are still stuck with a horrendous 6, 7 & 9.

They will battle it out with wests again...

Butthurt much?

Warriors will bounce back next week against the Dragons. They came up against a team very hungry to improve and succeed. A team hungry to demonstrate they are a force to be reckoned with in 2014.

Your right mate, I should not believe in my team who on f**ken paper are a top4 side but deliver this f**king pathetic shit up.

Seriously they didnt half throw that tonight, that was complete bullshit, they deserve to be raped with sticks

Fire the f**ken Merkin Lousi
Fire Manu from the Wing
Fire Elliot for putting Daley Tuimavave into centre

Tomkins, much like Hayne, will come under loads of scrutiny from opposition fans for being 'shit' if he doesn't score twice a game, run 300 metres and have 19 try assists.

Tomkins will be one of our best players and opposition fans will be creaming themselves when they Warriors turn it on. Just hope we can kick the shit out of the Rabbitohs so I can laugh at Bunniesderp.

Either that or just wait for the finals. That's when fifteen other teams have a collective laugh at him. It's just unfortunate we have to wait so long for it.

Refs were ordinary - give their match payments to the video ref, he was the only one who did anything

Very happy with our performance but we will be grounded by the Roosters next

Typical Warriors but they will come good - they always start slow in the heat.
