He ruled it went forward, but that the player who caught it ran from an onside position to regather it. knock on.

He was stating only Lote could catch it because it was propelled forward, so any other team mate touching it would confirm the knock on whilst Lote catching it on the full would negate it.

One thing I have to give the Souths' centres credit for is running blokes. Not many do them better.

Souths - Manly game 32nd minute, manly in possesion attacking 20m out from ouths line, Lote goes for an intercept, taps the ball high (it went back 1 metre yet Hayne ruled it went forward) another Souths player re-gathers before it hits the ground.
Hayne rules that omly Lote could regather the ball, no team mate...not sure on this

If the player that regathered was in front of Lote = automatic penalty offisde

So hes clearly behind Lote in an onside position....if the ref ruled correctly (that the ball went backwards one meter) it would have been play on

Is it correct an onside player behind a team mate attempting an intercept cannot regather a ball that has been knocked forward?

Rabs and co didnt have a clue...shouldve been play on Souths but it was a line ball 50/50 call, not an easy one for the ref

whoever moved this...get a clue
