Did you even see the penalty flow that had Storm in the lead. End penalty counts sre nowhere near the full story. Between square ups and pointless penalties. They can paint a different picture. Anyone who watched the game can see how the flow favored one team over the other.

We had a player binned within the last 20 minutes or so. Also no, not everyone who watched the game agrees with you hence the discussion.

People complain because they like to have a good whinge.
Right so you knew the answer, people just make stuff up every week, victimising your team particularly who just coincidentally happen to be the biggest proven cheats in rugby league. You are victims. So why did you ask?

Panthers had 60% of the ball in the first half due to penalties and were down 14-10 at halftime which flattered the Panthers given Smith missed all conversion attempts. One penalty in the second half saw the Panthers hit the lead and have the Storm down to 12, another penalty that saw the Storm even the game up should have been a try.

At the end of the day Wallace had a penalty goal to win the game and couldn't get it done. Anyone who watched the game would understand that the game ebbed and flowed but the Storm had just too much class in the end.

No way was Penrith the clear cut better side. None of their players stood up when it counted.

Selective quoting ftw. Like i said it isn't just the storm that this is said about. Also it doesn't matter how often people make this complaint doesn't make it more true. People hate the storm for many reasons and are blinded in their rage when there is any discussion regarding us. Like this particular conversation, you ignore everything i say and then keep on dribbling out the same insults.

It sucks that you lost, get over it.

The Panthers of previous seasons would have lost that by 20+. Couldn't fault the effort of the boys tonight, left nothing out there. As a previous poster said, simply outclassed in the end (i.e. the Smith re-start after the Wallace field goal).

I think Penrith lost it while Slater was in the bin. We needed to go for the jugular and take the tap. Going into last 10 with a 2 point lead against Smith/Cronk/Slater is asking for trouble.

Lol no the rest of the teams don't cop the bagging for being cheats that the Storm do, and for good reason, now if you're going to disregard the reasons and just chalk it up to the Storm being the hapless victims of blind rage then I ask again, why would you ask the question? You clearly don't care for a truthful answer. I've not insulted you other than having drawn upon the proven actions of your club.

I too was shocked with the decision - were creating a lot of opportunities, particularly on the edges. Hopefully many lessons were taken out of tonight. A chance for payback in Round 24...

My two cents..not getting into the Cheat and Penalty count allegations..old news.

Penrith should have closed this game out on the back of Idris who just needed to run hard and fast at Tonumipea and co to win this game. Storm's sliding defence simply stifled him and Mansour benefited from this but I genuinely think that if Idris hit the line hard he would have been the difference.

Wallace was strong tonight and is a good signing.

Hoffman, Smith and J Bromwich led from the front tonight but Penrith will win a lot more games than they lose this year,

ChrisD please give yourself an uppercut.

Outclassed in the end by Cameron Smith and Cooper Cronk.
That kick from Smith, I didn't really celebrate but more sit there in awe.
What a player.

I said to myself out loud,"watch the bluddy kick-off!".

What happened?..The Panthers switched off and that I blame not on the players but on the runners who should have had the instruction from Cleary to be wary of it.

Thats why the reasoning in why he didn't answer any questions in the post match conference.

After the huge effort put on by his players,my bet is that he let them down by not directing them of the possibility of a grubber-kick for touch after we got stung with that very play in the 9's.

But with this mighty effort, the Panthers have put the rest of the competition on notice.

Can't wait for next week.

I don't see a way to defend a kick-off like that. Even if you try to stop that ball, odds on you knock it on with how quickly it was rocketing at the sideline. If you try and trap it with your foot, it's going to bounce back toward the Storm anyway. Basically it would take a freakish and fluky catch. Almost better off letting it go out and knowing that you can set your defence against the Storm, then trying to stop it, inevitably handing it back to them and having a broken field situation where they could probably score a try.

It was a genius play and honestly you have to wonder why plays like that aren't more common... there's a few ways for the play to pay off and leave you with a better then 50% chance at getting a result that favors you. The only thing you have to make certain of his getting atleast the one bounce before it goes over the sideline. Which probably wouldn't be easy, but would be worth practicing.

Panthers released a statement regarding the presser

http://www.penrithpanthers.com.au/content/panthers/club/news/2014/03/15/club_statement.html

CLUB STATEMENT

Sat 15th March, 08:58PM

The Panthers would like to advise members and fans as to why there was no post-match press conference with Ivan Cleary and Kevin Kingston after tonight?s loss to the Storm.

As per the NRL?s requirements, Ivan and Kevin made themselves available to the media in the conference room within 15 minutes of full time. As there were no journalists present to ask questions, the conference did not go ahead.

Before the media conference was due to commence, an ABC Grandstand reporter approached the Panthers Sports Media Executive for an interview with Ivan, to which he obliged.

Sometime after the NRL?s 15 minute window and once Ivan and Kevin had walked back into the change room to finish post-match recovery, several other journalists approached club staff outside asking if the Coach would be doing his post-match press conference, to which we advised he had already attended the media room, but as no one was there it did not take place.

There were no other interview requests for the Coach or Panthers players at the ground tonight.

Sounds fair enough. Media aren't there at the allocated time they can get stuffed.
