St. Merge need some bigger bodies, their pack is just way too small, they were rag dolled this afternoon.

Well I was at the game, and thankfully for me I came away happy as my team won (even though I tipped against them).

A couple of people earlier in the thread criticised Ray Warren for talking about the weather. Well for much of this morning it was overcast and raining in Sydney, and just prior to the Toyota Cup game kicking off it was bucketing down the the SFS. The sun started to come out late in the first half but it still rained well into the second half. It was only about an hour before kickoff to first grade the rain actually stopped and the sun stayed out.

I dare say it was that rain that kept it from being a sell out as it was the seats out in the open that were vacant.

As to the match, the Roosters won it in the forwards. Of the starting 6 for each team, the Roosters had 5 players who gained 100+ metres with ball in hand (namely Warea-Hagraves, Moa, SWB, Cordner and Guerra) whilst the Dragons only had 2 (namely Creagh and Merrin). The fact that the Roosters bent the Dragons defensive line helped them to get quick play the balls which kept the Dragons on the back foot. That then opened things up for the backs, of whom all the Roosters three quarters gained over 100+ metres.

How bad is Jennings ankle? Anyone know?

Maloney is not an ACL as it was his shoulder / arm that was in a sling after the game. Anyone know what the go is with his injury?

Hopefully its serious enough to put him in doubt for Origin but not serious enough for him to miss any games during the Origin period. How do we make that happen?

Following is from the Roosters website -

Injury Update: Jimmy and Jenko
Fri 25th April, 07:30PM

MICHAEL JENNINGS
The centre suffered a right ankle sprain in the final 10 minutes of this afternoon's ANZAC Cup victory over the Dragons, with the NSW and Australian representative forced from the field.

It is unknown as yet if Jennings will miss any action due to next week's BYE Round.

Jennings will be monitored throughout the week by Roosters Medical Staff and an update will be provided on his condition later in the week.

JAMES MALONEY
The playmaker suffered a Grade 2 AC Injury to his left shoulder in the dying stages of this afternoon's ANZAC Cup win and will be sent for scans tomorrow, with an update on his condition to be provided early next week.

Every Saints fan is aware of this. Price and Doust seem blissfully unaware. It's not just size though. It appears as if we haven't done any strength and conditioning training. We look unfit.
