I like the idea of IMG and the idea of a grading system for all that is a returns on investment system. In many cases, it’s worked. Leigh’s rebrand, the increase in crowds at KR, Wakefield’s rejuvenation, Oldham’s growth etc. However, it’s not perfect, the grading system needed tweaking and still does. It was always going to be the case though, the first round was always going to highlight the odd issue.

Personally, I would keep the grading system, it just needs an overhaul. I’m not sure it will be kept though. The Super League clubs have never really been that receptive to IMG and their ideas, they’ve basically gone against them when it came to Magic Weekend and the makeup of the league now too.

The grading system not taking into account a teams recent on field history and stadium is a joke.

i think challenge cup semi-final double headers and England internationals held at the redeveloped 53k elland rd would work nicely and if elland rd was ever to expand to 60k+ then id seriously think about playing the challenge cup final there too.
