It was more entertaining then most of the games over the weekend. At least it wasn't a dead rubber after 30 minutes like some of the other games.

A close game does not equal a good one and whilst this may not have been the worst game of the round so far, it has easily been the most frustrating to watch. There was hardly any flow and both sides appeared to do their level best to lose it, rather than pull out all stops to win.

Its only round 1 but considering the way both teams finished last season its looking like a long road for both clubs unless a big turn around in form occurs

I question how Wighton got fox sports player of the match when the guy was binned for punching and gave away numerous penalties...not a great look for the game.

He was by far the best player out there IMO but I do agree.

He only conceded 2 penalties for the whole match. He scored two tries, set one up and saved the match with a try saving tackle at the death. Was easily the best player on the ground despite the binning. Though an argument can be made if it's appropriate to award it to someone who was binned.

However Canberra tearing through the Sharks middle consistently was no surprise. It took them a while to remember you have to compensate for Ennis being a truly awful defender

Man of the match should be awarded to the player who had the biggest positive affect on the outcome of the game.

And that was Jack Wighton even with his sin binning he was head and shoulders above the rest. Without him quite simply Canberra don't win.
