Excellent game.

Souffs were just a little bit better than us unfortunately, but i think it's pretty clear who the 2 benchmark teams in the comp are.

Also, it was nice for once that the refs stayed neutral, and that there were no major f**k ups from them that decided the result. Best refereed game so far imo.

Bring on the riff next Monday:)

Great game, a few thoughts:

Did Inglis even play in the second half? he can go quiet can't he..

Maloney is a much more creative player than Pearce. The game is in the balance and like Inglis, Pearce is nowhere to be seen.

Mcillwrick is a terrible dummy half lol, enjoy roosters.

I'm looking forward to the Penrith v Easts game. Will be a good test of where Penrith are and if they really belong in the conversation with the heavyweights.

Even in defeat, Easts proved themselves as not far behind us and ahead of every other team. Now where do the Panthers belong in the hierarchy.

Too true mate it was a great contest and went right down to the wire. I think the Roosters just got a bit frustrated at the end and gave a few penalties away which helped us get those last few tries.

Only disappointment was the fact we let in three consecutive tries when Reyno went off. Need to work on that.

Whilst George burgess is an absolute beast, it would be nice to see him take a hit up before the 3rd tackle once in a while. He must buy tyrell, Clarke etc a million beers a week.

He'd do it if necessary, and does, but the flipside of that is do you want Clarke, tyrell etc doing the 3rd hit-up with a roll-on.

Me personally I'd rather Burgess doing it on the 3rd.

I thought the score line flattered the roosters. To me the rabbits were much more impressive and always in control, even when down by 8. Everytime they got in the roosters 20 they looked like scoring. Roosters had some good plays but got 2 opportunistic tries. Jake friend is obviously a massive loss but in this game I thought souths were miles infront.

Top game from both sides for 60 mins, but Souths just took is to school the last 20, never looked flustered while we started making stupid errors and some horrendous arm grabbing defensive efforts.

Once Souths took the lead back the result was forgone, we never looking like scoring and seemed to had run out of ideas.

The molester and skids need a firm kick up the arse for us. Very weak link that will get exploited by many a team if they don't improve

A lesser player would have been in trouble for yelling like that at the ref. A less protected species, anyway.

Now they give the grub a penalty.

It's a Queensderp thing.

Have a look at the protected species roll of dishonour.

Thurston, Inglis, C. Smith, Slater. Any other contenders? Probably another three or four.

Mullo practicarape whined the referee ear off last night and nothing was said

Great to see today's game go a few minutes past 6pm. Was waiting to see whether or not Ch9 were either going to cut the telecast or transfer it to GEM, and go straight to Nine News.

Ch9 have obviously timed the kickoff time and half-time break duration so that full-time occurs as close to 6pm as possible, so they can retain viewership by going straight to the news bulletin.

I don't know about that mate. There was a clear period when we were on top and could've gone further in front had SKD woken the f**k up to score. For most of the part though, yes, Souths were clearly on top and looked more composed and battle-ready

That 10 minute period when Reynolds was off yes roosters looked to have taken control but souths regained it pretty quickly imo
