Game of the round. First big test to see if Penrith is up to the hype. Can they match the established heavyweights (Souths and Easts).

Sowie is out. 4-6 weeks. If they're competitive in this game they become the automatic #3 team. If they win they go to #2.

Panthers - Sowie = Chooks easy draw. Might start a new thread.........

Issac John is an above average replacement. We should still be in this up to our eyeballs.

These are the games that worry me. Everyone wrights them off and they play like there's nothing to lose.

Being a roosters fan is hard..they can lose to the most pathetic team on any given day haha. Not saying panthers are pathetic but just saying they can be leading the comp and then play like they should be wooden spooners.

Massive loss for the kicking game without Sowie. John isn't that bad and has played for NZ but we just lose a lot of control without Sowie. If the Roosters really want to win, they will. I still hope we can upset them and they have one of their off days against a team they're expected to beat.

Would honestly confidently tip Penrith if Soward was playing, he is crucial in a match like this as seen in the finals. Would've loved to see this match in the right time slot with friend and sowie back, still should be a cracker.

Soward got us over the line last time. We needed him to. The team was held together with rubber bands and Minty wrappers. We have a much stronger side this time around with nearly a full roster. I'm not saying Soward won't be missed, but I think the Panthers can adapt.
I wouldn't bet my house on Penrith, but a win's possible.

Edit- Agree, big game. Sucks having to wait 'til Monday night.

Penrith can still win this, no Soward hurts but if we can match it up the middle and keep possesion even or in our favour we are still a big chance. Its the kicking game that really hurts without Sowie. If the Roosters drop the ball and lose the penalty count like they did round 1 then we really should win but that being said they have a lot of weapons behind a great forward pack.

You should be worried if the Roosters drop the ball and lose the penalty count - they flogged the Cowboys doing that in round 1 yet last week held the ball (88% completions) and drew the penalty count but lost. Go figure.

Just gotta look at the opposition. The Cowboys didnt show up round 1 meanwhile the Bunnies are the benchmark and showed why last week. Anyway i think if you gift Penrith with that much ball and field position we should punish you for it. Im expecting the roosters of round 2 to show up on monday but u never know.
