Was it embarrassing that the Channel 9 commentators didn't know the rule about where the penalty should be awarded after the missed field goal by Adam Reynolds ?

Yes, and it's embarrassing that they didn't even know it was a penalty for the contact.

Fittler and Lockyer both said it's a penalty every day of the week in the second game.

So the Dogs lose the Grand Final and cop it sweet, then 6 months later lose a regular season game and go bananas? That'll do me.

Common sense happened. Feeling for the refs atm, today they actually went really well and nothing they ruled was incorrect. Some people just don't understand that attacking the legs (whether there was intent or not) is against the rules. Constant back chatting and having a go at the ref is against the rules. It's simple.

How about not ruling the Morris push in the back at the restart? It was that point that made it seem that the ref was ensuring a rabbits win. That should have been a penalty and the chance for the dogs to win. That was replayed on the big screen further fueling anger. Not that I condone the idiots who did what they did. At the end of the day it's a game. Seen too many people at pubs etc get worked up and into needless fights when a controversial decision is made. Never pretty.

That first photo is ZERO proof that there is no contact.

There is a side on video that would be far more evidentiary.

That last photo and the accompanying words are like some sort of schizophrenic meth head rant

Yeah if you watch the video the ball had left Adams boot before graham had left the ground. I think someone else made the comment that diving to block a field goal from 45m out is probably he stupidest thing you could do. Just running with your hands up would have done the same thing. And he was unlikely to get it from that far out.

Though those screenshots make a good case that graham didn't injure Reynolds. He was already injured.

Picture doesn't show shit except for Grahams arm most likely touching Reynolds leg as his leg is being twisted. It's not proof he wasn't touching him.

Odds on Reynolds leg is twisted like that because Graham has made contact already.

That picture actually proves the penalty was correct.
Graham's body is in contact with Reynolds' right leg (and possibly his arm in contact with Reynolds' left leg).
I seriously doubt Reynolds lands like that without Graham making contact. Just because he may not be touching the injured leg, it doesn't mean he didn't cause the injury. Making contact with the right leg puts Reynolds off balance making him land awkwardly.

If you wan't to recreate the experience, stand on one leg, and have your wife/girlfriend/lover smash you in the knee with a baseball bat.

In Graham's case even if you believed the accidental contact should've been penalised there's no way he's going to get charged over it. Although I wouldn't put it past the NRL now to come out defensively and hit him with a suspension.

Make up your mind. Is he going to get charged or not?

I think he's looking at 2 suspensions.

dogs lost because they are not good enough

Actually they lost because their captain gave away a really dumb penalty.

In regards to the game - if the Bulldogs halves weren't totally devoid of creativity they would've won that easily. The Morris boys are carrying that side in attack.

graham's hands already came in contact with reynold's leg before that first pic. no wonder his ankle was rolled. it was reckless and dangerous because he dove low, which was always going to be risky to reynold's planted leg.

Yes Graham had contacted Reynolds' leg by the first pic, yes it was reckless, yes it turned out to be dangerous but no, didn't dive low.

He was trying to charge down a field goal, it was his follow through that led to him striking Reynolds because he gave it all he had to get there to stop the kick.

Souths supporters are exaggerating it 1 way & the Dogs supporters, the other. There is a middle ground.
