Rugby League in the end is a game all about defence. It is at its best when one side scores 0, preferably with the other side scoring a solitary field goal or penalty goal.

Best performance the Dragons produced all season.

Nothing pretty but plenty of good contact in defence and just played more footy than the Knights.

Newcastle were poor. Conditions didn't suit their style of play and it exposed their halves who have been down all season.

Not a pretty game but any game you keep the opposition to zero is worth celebrating.

Congrats Dragons. Throughly deserved win.

We were abysmal. Deadset went back to the Bennett Ball tonight and we were punished accordingly. Why we went away from what had been working for us with offloads and second phase play is beyond me when our handling was pretty good in the rain. You can't just keep hitting it up one out on the oppositions line and expect to get a result...especially when the Dragons have been defending so well and are our bogey side. Mullen and especially Roberts were abysmal. And what the obsession is with moving the whole side around the fit Sione is who isn't a fullback is beyond me. He can play NSW Cup or 20s until we have an injury or Gagai goes so he can play in his natural position.

In a way though I'm kind of relieved for a loss. Everyone has been death riding us waiting for it to happen so I'm sure our horrible performance will make a lot of people happy. Takes the pressure off.

Oh OK,my apologies.I took it that you thought Brandy is always bagging your side.

What the listener has to realise,and I've raised this before although I don't mind repeating,is that you have the two main commentators.

One caller favours (slightly) one side,and vice versa with the other commentator.

They've been doing it for years now,although not as obvious as it used to be.

The whole point about this practice is that because it is payTV,it's best,even in a loss,to massage the fan's ego whether they lose or win.

To those that are not aware,yes,it sounds like your side is getting the rough end of the commentary,especially if your side loses.

But most of the time,the fan only hears what he wants to hear.
