All this talk of the grand final being decided is so much like last season and Souths apparently going undefeated through the entire season.

Plenty of fans have the tissues and lube out early yet again.

Happens every year. Pans out like once a decade.

Hunt has to be the bigest concern for Brisbane.

He's just stopped running the ball which would be a real concern considering that's what made him so dangerous with ball in hand and also helped to open up space out wide as defenders couldn't shift off him before the ball was gone.

To a degree but bare in mind he's coming off no pre season. I wasn't expecting him to be playing well till round 5-6 at least.

The Cowboys biggest weakness is when Granville inevitably has to go off for a breather. They really should move Kostjaysen (sp) on as he is terrible. They have NOTHING when Granville is off the field and teams are already exploiting this. Unless they can find a better backup internally or with a mid season transfer (unlikely with their salary cap situation) this could be their undoing.

I still think they will take plenty of positives away from this game, and should have learnt their lesson starting Kostjaysen. Maybe giving Granville an early season taper would be my only explanation.

I also don't understand why everyone was so shocked that Ben Hunt had a bad GF game and start to this season. Inconsistency and underachievement have DEFINED his 7 odd year NRL career until the last 18-24 months or so, it was just a matter of time before these weak mental traits in his game resurfaced again. I'm just surprised it wasn't sooner.

I think he moved on to Parra? They have great depth there with Peats, De Gois and King. Cowboys could do with one of those backups.

and here I was thinking that if you took the best player out of any team, all would be well and good

f**k me this place produces some dead shit posts sometimes

Yeah it's always cringeworthy when someone says "take player X out of that side and they struggle"

This would have been a broncos ball because eden was already in touch. .he didn't take it out. Is like when a player puts a foot over the dead ball or sidelines to make a kick out on the full when they catch it..they become part of the line.

The rule has already been posted. Try reading next time.

We saw the teams to beat last night for the title. No other side can run with either of these two teams this year.

Yeah except for Penrith last week and Parra the week before. Obviously those teams have peaked already and have no improvement left in them.

Reed and Oates missed last nights game so there is obviously a huge amount of improvement still to come

How much improvement does the Panthers team missing Moylan, Whare, Segeyaro and Merrin have left in them?

So what you're saying is panthers should be favourites for the premiership.
Why don't you kit your money where your mouth is.
Should get around 15-1

Jack Reed out weakens a team

Gillet dropped the ball clearly, unless it somehow teleported from one arm to the other

Just using your logic. The Broncos are missing Oates and Reed and won, so clearly they are significantly better than the Cowboys. The Panthers are missing those players and won, so they are clearly better than the Broncos.

The Panthers lost to the Bulldogs, who lost to Parra, who lost to Brisbane, so they are cancelled out.

Therefore, Panthers are premiers.

Thanks Champ for clearing it all up. Should win some big money on this.

But Penrith lost to Canberra, who drew with Newcastle.

Newcastle for premiership dark horse.

Yeah but Canberra were full strength against Penrith (they did lose Austin during the game, but that is irrelevant according to the chump) and not against Newcastle, so it doesn't count.
