18 yr old age restriction for NRL?

Jordan Rankin debuting at 16 was a pure publicity stunt from the Titans. It was such a typical "look at us" move. I mean how else can you justify debuting a player that sh*t at that age?

He almost scored a solo try with his first touch if my memory is correct.

They should look at similar things implemented in the WTA and ATP tour, place a restriction on how many games they play in their debut season if under 18, it would give plenty if time for their body to recover, help prevent injury and probably make them a better player in the long run, at least for the immediate following seasons.

However I don't think it needs to be a NRL top down thing, clubs should be doing it themselves to look after their young kids.
