18th club, whose next?

Unless they were blowing wind up the Perth consortiums ass, both Fox and 9 indicated they wanted Perth at Magic Round this year ....
Do you have any evidence of this?

There's no press release from either company stating they prefer Perth over everyone else.

How would a Perth-based team help Ch9?

The 6pm AEST Sun timeslot that the Perth consortium is billing as the saviour of the game won't benefit Ch9.

If Perth hosted the Thur/Fri 8pm AEST Ch9 game then it would be held at 6pm AWST. A terrible timeslot for fans that would cost the club revenue.

We do know that Head of Strategy WWOS Simon Fordham said this at Magic Round:

For Fordham, making the most of this momentum looks like bringing more games to the region – and potentially another team.

Fordham: “We’re really committed to working with the NRL in growing the competition, and Queensland is a big part of that. We think there’s room for another team here in Queensland, and the Dolphins have been the perfect example.

“The more games we can get played featuring Queensland teams in Southeast Queensland, the better. The engagement in rugby league here is just next level, and the energy of the crowds has a material impact on the quality of the broadcasts that we make. It helps create atmosphere, it makes the commentary team rise, it makes the production team rise.”

As the third most watched club on TV, quite a bit I'd suggest.
Only 30k of the Storm's FTA viewers are from Melbourne. Their value to the broadcasters is the ratings they pull in SEQ. A Perth-based team won't pull strong ratings in SEQ. You're arguing that a Perth-based team will generate massive ratings in SEQ like the Storm. The only reason the Storm gained traction in SEQ is because of the reputational damage caused by a) the Broncos' defection to Super League and b) loss of Chargers and Crushers. Instant success drew support from disaffected Queenslanders.

There was a similar comment from foxsports supporting another brisb side

Dolphins and easts will cater to that market

and also take all the juniors the storm gets from qld

You posed those questions after I asked you how much value the Storm bring to the broadcast rights. It's a deflection tactic.
Melbourne TV ratings for event games such as Origin and the GF have increased dramatically since the advent of the Storm.

Your argument is circular nonsense.

The Storm are one of the highest rated teams on STV, that is a fact.

After? Why don't you click the little arrow to go to the below post and see what you were responding to

Serious question.

How much money do the Storm add to the TV deal?

How much money will teams in Adelaide and Perth add to the TV deal?

And then explain how you responded to a post that I apparently posted after it.

News Ltd know it will generate stronger ratings than one from Perth.

Their value would be much less if they entered the NRL after the game recovered from the Super League fallout in SEQ.
Imagine it had been the dolphins or easts 30 years ago instead of the storm where we would be now

if we didn’t have these great places like brisbane easts png or christchurch who can grow the game a lot, sure bring in Perth as filler

but ahead of places that can grow the game ? No chance

By the way donkey, when you are done deflecting with lies claiming you asked the question first, here's your mate stating that Melbourne do not increase the tv contract value at all.

What growth ?

the storm haven’t grown juniors or tv contract value and Perth won’t be as successful as they are

despite what you claim neither nine or fox want a team in Perth

How does another team in an area with 3 on its doorstep, "grow the game"?

The "expansionists" are against a third Brisbane team because they know it will cut off the Storm's talent supply.

Firstly, I don’t support the Storm. So I don’t care how they go on the field.

Secondly, that is a supposition. Having nine Sydney clubs hasn’t meant that talent from Sydney hasn’t gone outside of Sydney or even talent from NSW hasn’t ended up at Melbourne or the QLD sides. There is a very high probability that players from QLD will end up outside of Qld no matter how many QLD sides there are.

Clubs aren’t limited to their background and can recruit from anywhere they want.
