From the already quoted article:

"The NRL also hold reservations about issuing a new franchise to private owners.

They may now explore the prospect of taking ownership of a new team with another team in Brisbane or a second New Zealand team the most likely outcome."

So they don't want private ownership of clubs?

Did they tell the bids that? And why didn't mugab and wbtiktok not tell us?

Don't worry, I'm sure tiktok will be along soon to tell us he actually predicted this outcome 53 years ago.

can PNG be ready for 2028?
is Australian tv going to pay much extra for a comp with just png added?
Is Vlandys going to walk away from a once in a lifetime chance to have serious external money spent on growing the game in WA?
After talking up 20 clubs is nrl happy to have egg on its face when it concedes it can’t expand beyond a govt slush funded png?

clock is ticking for tv negotiations

They might have to make it work to get the extra game for the TV deal , with the other bids out of the running so far
I don’t think they can which is one reason I think Perth will still happen, be it nrl owned or western bears owned. That and the massive cash injection the Wa govt is offering, you’d be pretty dumb to walk away from that.
I have thought for some time club 20 decision will be parked for A few years.

Why won’t PNG work ? No one is saying they will be competitive … but they can field a team with 3 years notice and $600 million dollars committed from the govt

Well…” complete” meaning $$$ right ?

Well No.

They have started their pathway program.
Have a team in QCup and a national comp behind that.

Compare that to the other bids outside of Brisbane 3 and they are a mile in front of the options.... IF the long term side of it stands up
