Well nobody would have predicted this Rd 2 team from the coach.
Dufty in, no Aitken and JL dumped from FB after 1 game and put on the wing which is no doubt is his worst position and all because a winger got hurt? I somehow don't think so obviously something is rotten in the state of Denmark.
So now Lomax is deflated, Saab is deflated and Dufty who already had proven to be problematic returns against a side who just beat the reigning premiers and have a giant or 2 in their pack and we have lost our "enforcer" and key RHS defender.
VK running off Cleary at Hunt alongside a new and yet unproven "protector" in Fuimaono and Dufty behind them defending the line sounds like a recipe for disaster.
The image of Graham running in yelling, screaming and frothing at the mouth with a minute 40 left on the clock must have influenced coach to select Dufty as Graham after all needs someone to yell at and he has form with Dufty.
LL and probably - 40 on the +/- after 2 rounds sounds about right.

Ok for the hundreth millienth time Hunt will not play hooker. We have 3 already besides McIness.

Hunt admitted he had a crap game against the Tigers, lets see him back up the words with actions in rd2.

Who knows if there'll be a round 3 yet.

The game plan of our team standing flat in attack for ever set is the prime cause of our ineffective attacking game. this followed closely by the lack of suport when on the few occasions we do ben/break the defensive line, there is no organised support play.

I'd say Flanagan has done a great job with defensive play. Now it's time for him to create attacking plays. Give Sheppard the job to maintain quality in defensive play.

Lomax shafted after 1 game and Dufty who if people are really honest is shit but gets a gig beside coach at the presser.
Coach says the fans should be excited to see Dufty score a long range try and how good that was FMD he was a cm away from letting in a try due to bad positioning and not putting his body on the line.
Did he not see the other pathetic passages of play from Dufty but he chose to focus on an opportunist moment and have to say a slick try whilst putting the knife into the back of the defensive coach.
Halves bog average or worse and Hunt presents us with a horror option with seconds on the clock. Norman just gets worse every week but of course scored a try so will be forgiven.
James Graham who was spent when he got to us is almost running backwards he is so ineffective.
Williame showing some glimmer of hope & Fuimaono certainly played a powerful game hopefully more of the same next week.
Vaughan starting to look pedestrian as he is doing the bullocking work and Merrin is even worse than I though he would be.
If the coach is honest at least 4 changes for next week (not counting Rava being back) but for sure that won't happen.

2 changes will be Mcinnes and Sims.

Mary said something yet again confusing re Saab.
Did anyone see reserve grade or did you @George Dragon.
I heard in January that Saab would not be ready for Round 1.... then apparently he was.and played in reggies
But now Mary says he is not ready for NRL?...why?
I am confused?

On a side note I have been very disappointed with the impact of Merrin thus far

• Averaging 11 points per game.
• Conceding 24 points per game.
• Frizzell leaving.
• Saab wanting to leave.
• Our roster has significant issues and still carries a man who cannot be selected.
• A merry go round in the FB position as well as the bench.
• Team selections getting worse by the day.
• Out of form players just shovelled off into alternate positions than those they were signed to play.
• The Warriors set new NRL record for completions against us 1 week and the Dogs almost follow suit the next week.
• Fans now openly cheering for the opposition team.
• A crisis meeting has been held.
• Coach still has a job and support at BOD level.

Hard to believe it could get worse than when we were 0-2 pre Covid and to think so many were so eagerly awaiting the resumption of the season.

All very good points OT. There is something fishy going on and I can smell a rat in this sad affair. Never did I think that the restart of rugby league after nearly 2 months layoff would be this bad for us fans.

Why has there been a significant shift from pre lockdown to now of reasonable/good games in rounds 1 and 2 and then shite in rounds 3 and 4? Who has caused this significant shift? We would of course say the man who said that he is not a quitter. This would be under 8's coach (sorry for the number which I plucked out of the air) and maybe his assistants have not done enough homework to work out strategies and game plans to suit our players with the new rules.

I also have a feeling that the players are not fit, they feel the pressure given that they are losing games, there is dissension amongst the players, the long suffering effects of the JDB saga and the players divided, some players not happy with the head coach, some players just not first grade material, etc.

This thread was started before the Covid-19 lockdown and in hindsight should have been headed "First two weeks of 2020" but of course nobody would have thought about no league for weeks on end after round 2.

I wonder if Corey Norman has spoken to the other players about his experience of being part of a wooden spoon club and how it felt like? Would this change the attitude of our players to play hard to win?
