Cracker from Hazlewood to get straight through the in-form Root.

Need 2 or 3 more quick ones..

Now a 40 run partnership. Australia have lost every single important moment in this game since the first session. Unbelievable.

Australia need 412 to win

try and bat through day 4, with no more than 3-4 wickets down, then we should win it

70% chance of rain on day 5 so that'll throw a spanner in the works for the wins if Aus survive tomorrow.

If we lose, that being the most likely scenerio then we can blame Hadden for dropping Root in the first innings.

We have so much time this game should be winnable. But I fear the likes of Warner and Watson are downhill skiers, and Voges and Haddin are not good enough.

Our hopes rest on Rogers, Smith and Clarke. Those 3 know how to bat in tough situations. If they get 250 between them we can win.

This will take disciplined batting. Being content with 2 an over and not taking stupid risks. It is achievable if we show some intelligence and spine.

Only 400 odd to chase down and 2 days to do it.

Talk of rain on day 5 so maybe we wont get 2 full days and the pitch really is turning but the soap dodger's spinners are pretty average.

The stage is set, bring it on.

Lyon will feature in wicket taking aggregates because he has been given more chances than anyone else and there really hasn't been anyone pushing him, except SOK who will not be picked for political or some such reason, so Lyon can pretty much do what he likes.

He got 4 wickets and good on him for that, but geez it was about time he made a useful contribution.

We got this.
Warner and Smith won't fail twice in a Test, they'll both make 100s.
Rogers will get his token 50-100 runs.
And Watson will probably make 50 also just to avoid being dropped.

Doesn't leave many runs that the rest have to get.

Just read the Cummins was in India with Australia A and when he got called up, his spot was taken by Patto so he cant be too far away from 4 day cricket at least, possibly a chance at a test spot for next summer

*only 400 odd* lol

Fair play to Australia if you win from here but it's a 1/100 chance, historically speaking.

I can't believe England might win this test. We only have one batsman worth feeding - Root. Australia have 3 so I figured that'd be the difference.
