Moeen bats at 3 for Worcestershire and Woakes 6 for Warwickshire, but they're re-cast as lower order dashers for England and play accordingly. Vince looks very wobbly and Ballance still has technical issues.

The middle order apart from Bairstow is a rabble. Vince doesn't fill me with confidence and Ballance while solid in the 2nd dig has learnt nothing of his technical deficiencies from his time out of the side.
Its clear as day Moeen Ali is not a front line spinner and he should be judged as a batsmen. What is the point of playing him as an all rounder in 7 or 8 when he is clearly not one. They need a wicket taking spinner in there or at least a spinner that can dry up the runs, Ali doesn't even do that.
I would give Rashid another go as front line spinner and move Ali up the order as a batsmen. If Ali doesn't perform as a batsmen out he goes. Not having a quality spinner in their side is hurting them so much.
I have been a knocker of Woakes in test cricket but I would have to take my hat of him of his performance in this test. Bowled well and added valuable runs down the order.
They will probably bring Stokes and Anderson back from injury for Finn & Ball as the only changes for the 2nd test.
