Tuffey also was good in that he upped the anti. Seemed he was prepared to play his shots and get the run rate down to a manageable level. Too often we see the middle order clog things up with dinky shots so it was nice to see Tuffey come out and basically have a crack also.

the problem there is Vettori... the guy is far too involved with that line up to see things objectively.

Well played NZ, your bowlers did an awesome job to slow us down and then keep us under 300. Our middle order batters in Clarke, White and even Ponting wasted too many balls and then got out before they could up the tempo, leaving too much to do for Hussey and co.

NZ have been consistently one of the best ODI sides in the world for the last decade.

In fact looking at the stats... your statement couldn't be more inaccurate

since Feb 2002 we have a 95-77 record

Our results against each country are as follows

Australia 8-25
Bangladesh 14-1
England 15-6
India 9-9
Pakistan 10-13
South Africa 9-8
Sri Lanka 9-10
West Indies 11-5
Zimbabwe 3-0

We have been dominant against the weaker teams, competitive against the better sides, and pretty terrible against Australia (although we have been a lot more competitive over the last 5 years or so)
