Another disappointing effort. Oram at the moment seems in very poor knick, it's taking him forever in the shortened versions of the game to get his eye and start to have a tonk. That's the difference between him and Cairns IMO, if the game needed Cairns to go at it straight off the cuff he could - Oram can't. Taylor's innings was similarly poor, a slow strike rate using up balls and then when the game demanded New Zealand take the batting powerplay, they don't, and if they had have the mish*t lofted shot from Taylor would have gone for 4 instead of down long offs throat. The whole New Zealand batting effort lacked execution or thought and it was a minor miracle that the Windies threatened to do worse.

Sad to say, but Jamie How just about looked the best of them. Until of course Elliott came in... he's an underrated ODI cricketer.

I think that Elliot could turn into a very good ODI player. He should be used more at the bowling crease as well.

At least he'd have been able to grip the ball. Vettori going to Patel at that stage after he'd already ripped out a couple of knee full toss gimmies was nuts. I miss Stephen Fleming at the helm to be honest, he was always seemed to make things happen, with Vettori he seems very content to stack the boundary rope and hope something happens.
