It is different. Kohli's actions were not derrogatory or insulting. He was not swearing, or being racist, or anything of a sort but merely making a talking motion. That is a new one, altogether. If it was about Smith commentating, Kohli has reminded him to take India's bowlers more seriously. If Smith had been successful, that is an insult to India's bowlers. You reckon McKay enjoyed watching KP predict his deliveries and call his shots before a ball is bowled?
It is more similar to Merve Hughes saying ticket's please than telling someone to f@#$ off.
Kohli has not crossed any lines as yet but he is deliberately getting under the Australian team's skin.
You simply aren't supposed to give sendoffs. I'd not be opposed to handing out match bans for it.
If there is any point in a cricket match that could boil over its sending a batsman off.
Mitchell Starc looks like a plonker when he does it too.

Love the way Kohli plays, competitive in your face style with a great batting average to ice it. If he was Australian we would love him.
The absence of Khawaja is one of the worst selection decisions in two decades, and that's saying something for this pack of mongs. Can't say I'm that into 20-20's as opposed to the proper formats, but realistically we have the talent to be winning the T20 World Cup and it would be nice to grab that one trophy we haven't nabbed before.
So after all this time, you are in fact a fan of the nice guy cricketer approach?
There is hope, BMac was not always warm and fuzzy as a cricketer.
India will be tough to beat in their backyard.
The pools are a disagrace.
India, Pakistan, NZ, Australia, and presumably Bangladesh in one pool. England goes alright in its own backyard, but India (thanks a lot to Kohli but Rahane and Darwan too), NZ, SA and leader Australia have created a gulf between them and the next best limited overs sides. I understand that T20 is a different game to 50 overs, but they're not so dissimilar as to make the point irrelevant.
just going by WC form, that is 3 of the best 4 limited overs top sides in one pool - not to mention includes Pakistan and Bangladesh playing in Asia. Bangladesh have become a strong limited overs team recently with Shakib and the new sensation Mustafizur being stars. (Cannot wait to see how Mustafizur goes in a big tournament).
England, SL, WI, SA and Zimbabwe appears to be a much easier pool to be in. I understand that the WI are a T20 force if Pollard, Dre Russ, Bravo and Gayle play. But no Narine now and the point remains valid. The seeding is plain wrong.
I'm of the firm opinion that the Australia Day game should never have been changed from a One Dayer to a T20.
