I'd play Boland at da G in da boxing day test.

Starc plays with the pinky in Adelaide.

Hazelwood is our man most prone to breakdowns so I'd give him a spell somewhere.

I'm not counting on Marsh to bowl any more than 10 overs of his tripe per test.

Rotation is BS unless for some reason the player needs it. Horses for courses, absolutely but f**k rotation policies to death with Trevor Hohns' pecker

I am warming to Inglis opening the batting as long as he can field.

Let's be honest all the current options are trash I rather roll the dice on proven international players who can take the attack a bit to India.

Harris and Bancroft are just going to prod and plod there way to ugly 20s at most anyway.

Inglis would be in slips although I've got no doubt golden boy marsh will have one spot in the cordon just so he doesn't have to run too far.

Green will be a huge loss in the field not devouring everything that moves in the gully.

Nice idea, poorly thought through IMO.

Part-time ODI opener does not a test opener make. He is more suited to the middle order against spin. I would prefer Marnus to partner Ussie in that case. Hell, even Marsh would be more suited.

I think that sometimes, if you need a makeshift opener, someone from that 6 or 7 position can almost be a better bet because they often face the second new ball. Ofc it's still different to the fresh, first over opening quicks.

I don't think Inglis is the guy though

I was always in favour of letting Marnus open and having Smith back at 3. We've got better options available in the middle order and its been that way for a while now. The specialists openers aren't doing enough to get the gig.

But as far as I can tell that has never been a consideration for selectors. They don't want to move Marnus. Or perhaps Marnus doesn't want to move. But he is a weirdo who needs to be told what to do e.g. no toasties in your pocket, no silly noises when fielding etc.

After watching Marnus on the fletch/hindy skit a few weeks back where they had him on the lie detector test

I reckon he may less weird then Smith.

I saw more personality from Marnus there then what you generally get off Smudge.

He is still weird but i don't think he cares that people find him that way for loving Cricket so much.

Smith is intensely weird.

Marcus is unhinged weird.

We have them covered.

Our prep is good. Maybe the best it's been in years. We don't have any Ashes hangover to deal with so they are well rested. And everyone is getting some shield time or one day cricket at a minimum.

And right now India are looking at a home series loss to NZ. Half the country wil be burning effigies of Rohit Sharma if they lose the second test.

Btw have India ever played a 5 test away series before? I can't recall it happening. It's going to be a very long summer for them. I look forward to it.

For all our issues

India have there legends in decline with the bat.

Rohit is 37 years of age averaging 31 this year

Kohli will be 36 next week and averaging 27 this year.

Ashwin is 38 years old and averaging 26 with the ball above his usual.

It's going to be a series where it seems everyone is slowly over the hill.
