Mark Waugh ripping into Mcdonald in the tea break. Thats the second time tonight ( the first on radio) ive heard him get stuck into him.

Mcdonalds bowling would be a great additon if he could justify a spot in the top 6. But as one of out four bowlers he looks well out of place.

two more wickets , 35 overs.

lets get these bastards!

Solid perfomance to close it out today.

pretty amazing victory when you think we had 3 players on debut , 1 player with one match and siddle who has played only a handful.

So , who's the number 1 team in the world again?

I personally don't consider the Victorian ranga a player, more a hinderance than anything

That's an excellent win - didn't see that happening...

All down to Mitchell Johnson though, his innings and to a lesser extent his bowling - and still no love for him from Aussie fans, he's jusst about a one man team atm!

Jaapies will be distraught - let Aussie get away - time for Prince to come back, I think, and the bowlers need to put the Aussie tail away...

Deserved win - not sure who I want to see lose more here:D

Great win for the Aussies- much needed. It must be pleasing to see the bowling attack perform- Johnston, Siddle and Hilfenhaus did the job.

good win and Notch justifiably MOM

we only need to draw this away series to go back to No 1 world ranking

now if we can just get 4 specialist bowlers we can still improve more I reckon

Well, from that side, you'd only want either North and MacDonald, and you'd obviously want North.

We have to get McGain in for McDonald, our attack lacked that spinner and we can't make the same mistake again in the 2nd test.

Same old story in this thread, and the reason I don't post in this forum anymore. Australia perform sensationally, yet most of the comments are negative.

"SA in the box seat", "Watch Ponting lose it from here" etc etc.

Why does Johnson never get credit? He has developed into a top of the line bowler this summer and he's still mercilessly bagged by you cretins.

Unbelievable.

Should I point out the irony?

Sorry to nit pick but Australia still are #1 in the test rankins as at 3/1/09 when it was last updated (See Below).

http://icc-cricket.yahoo.com/rankings/rankings.html

The Seffers needed to win in Sydney to take the #1 spot. Australia may need to win the ODI series to take back the #1 spot in those rankins as they are only one ranking point behind them.
